Nocona Coaches

What's up w/ our basketball coaches?? They are as bad as the football coaches. Even our 8th grade boy's are losing. Am I the only one who thinks we need new coaches? I hear hometown Brad Keck is looking of a new start...I hope we don't miss the boat getting him here!

We missed that boat years ago. No way he would ever coach here now. That boat came in the mid 90's. He is a great coach and will have no problems getting a job. What a mistake Bowie is making!!

I was told Bowie ISD renewed Keck...and if he leaves. . . it's his choice.

Why would he leave after years of struggling in 3a? Making the playoffs last year and got another good year to look forward to and also getting brand new facility. I dont think it was his choice. Thats what Ive been told.

Keck's style of coaching doesn't garner respect from his team. And to be successful, a coach has to have a team BELIEVE AND TRUST HIM when he tells them they can, and will, go through a brick wall to win.

Well, best of luck to who-ever gets the job. They better hurry time is running out. Keep dragging their feet and maybe the new coach can meet the players when 2 a days start. I havent heard any news on who getting the job. Just know they had a lot of application. Any ideas who the front runner is?

Agreed....Old Indian hold on to now Days, and Coach Mack...hes done more for Indian Tradition then many yall/ALL have fired in the past...Jacobs is right let a good GOOD...coach work his magic....Nocona needs that...... isntead of a new coach every 1.5 to 3 years....Dont do the 1-2-3 three years and done... just cause you want change...history repeats, and from someone living in Pilot Point I can see why someone wants more then just a 3 year coach.....Weve had 5 in 9 its not the coach sometimes.....but the kids..or.........the "ATH...ES".......... GIVE the coach and THEIR PROGRAM A CHANCE.....Nothing against NOCONA, I lived there and the move ins kept them out of the deep end in my 3 years......yall getting many these days......Answer is..........NO....keep the coach.....Best thing yall scene since 1994 era...If not keep wanting for another quick Quick fix for YOURSELF or your child, and for everyone else that thinks change works QUICKLY.....u vote for Obama?..It hasn't happend......YET.......and wont for NOCONA..God bless their Athletets and AMERICA...We need more parents like Jacobs in that town.

Always Watching: You are wrong about Keck. My son thought that he was a fantastic coach, and he had and still has a great deal of respect for him. They should have offered Brad head coach when Joiner left.

Wayne: You are wrong about keeping the AD/Coach. You don't know the real man. You haven't heard him when he does his ego trip thing. He truly thinks that he is too good to do what a really good AD would be doing for his players. Further, the grapevine says that his coaching staff if fed up with him because they do all of the work. You see his ego trip is all about thinking that he is so high and mighty that he doesn't have to lift a finger. I could quote you specific examples, but I have said enough.

"CAN'T WE ALL JUST GET ALONG?" I wished sports were fun and I don't have to have a State Championship ,though they are nice, just want the kids to be competitive and have fun. But to defend the coaches, sometimes when you are under the gun and under pressure you get a little stressed and sometimes that causes you to get testy/aggressive. I see no call for that but can see where it comes from. I hope we have a good season and will be there to support or TEAM including COACHES but also watch for any transgressions that may occur! I LOVE NOCONA and them INDIANS!!!!!!

ummm. pretty sure the 8th grade won district and got 2nd in the Little dribblers...and I saw hte coaches supporting them all the way thru the tournament...maybe we need not be so hasty in getting rid of our coaches...have u ever tried to sell a house in Nocona...not alot of move-ins...couldn't it be certain parents trying to put just their kid first ? and it takes a whole team ! especially the ones that want to do extra..the ones that show up for open gym, strength camp or just because they love the sport...its gotta start at home....

I think we havnt had good coaches since the 1980's the rest and keck are a bunch of da's.
