County Budget

it is amazing how much taxes and spending goes on, then they dont have money for sheriff cars, but then they go ahead and spend the money that is not there. They must have money hidden in secret accounts? The Sheriff office never saw it missing in their budget? Why didnt the auditor say anything?(too busy gossiping?) Sappington says its his fault. I guess they will take it out of his budget? I can not believe these people are running our county.

The reason the Sheriff's Office never saw it missing was because Sappington told the sheriff the money was there, I dont think they got with the different dept/offices and showed them a prelim budget, I think they just talked about it. The auditor acts like its her job to run everyones budget, when all she is responsible for is seeing that the money already in the budget is spent legally. This county is way too far behind the times. The auditor controls all but one credit card in the county and the other is controlled by the felon janitor who makes more money than any of the road hands or deputies. We need professional business men to run for office so that this county can set long and short term goal to make our county a better place for all.

Why is Sappington so supportive of this sheriff. He never supported any other sheriff. He is so worried about doing everything he can to run Keating's name into the ground, even though the man is dead. But it seemed like Keating got more out of the commissioners than Hamilton ever did. If Mesler wants to point fingers at who is responsible for Keating getting elected, maybe he should start by pointing it at his good ole buddy Tommie Sappington. He is one of the four that is responsible for limiting the finances of the sheriff's office for the years that Hamilton was in office.
