coincidence wrote: <quoted text>Wasn't his Russell Springs mobile home on fire yesterday ? The Russell Springs Fire Department was called out to a mobile home fire around 12:15 p.m. Thursday. Fire Chief H.M. Bottom told WJRS NEWS the fire department was called out to a residence at 74 Clara Lane, just off West Hwy. 80. The residence belonged to James Selby, and according to Bottom, the fire was extinguished, however, the trailer received heavy damage. The cause of the fire has not yet been determined and is under investigation.

Oh my, this is horrible. Was this Susie Selby's son. If so, I have known them for along time since he was a little boy.
R.I.P. James. We love you.

this was posted on another post from knifley ky James Selby Senseless Death
On Thursday morning, James Selby lost his home to a fire. As it would anyone, he was distraught in seeing his possessions go up in flames. The next day, James apparently took his own life.
Reflecting on other tragedies in this county, we've seen instant response and hundreds of thousands of dollars raised to help someone or some family in need. Businesses gave items for auctions, churches took up love offerings, groups were formed to help make sure every detail was covered. T-shirts and caps were made to recognize the event and the list goes on.
I knew of James Selby but I didn't know him personally. Maybe I'm partially to blame for not being the first person to come forward.
To all these benefit planners and so-called church going Christians who are suppose to share love and compassion, where was it Thursday? Where was it Friday when God only knows what was going through James' mind in the moments before he gave up?
Where was the churches with high steeples and better than thou members who flaunt their cash and fine clothes ? Where was the clothing centers and consignment shops to give this family clothes? Where was love?
Did this family have food and shelter after the fire? Did they have someone to encourage them and show love and compassion?
To those who did even the smallest thing, I say thank you. To the rest of us, we should be ashamed. Personally, I know nothing about starting a benefit or raising money, but there are people here who are good at those type things who could have done something.
Sure, raising money takes time and probably couldn't be done in less than 24 hours, but there could have been massive show of support that might have saved a man's life.
More than likely, James died alone, thinking there was no hope.
Today his family is grieving. They've lost their home, husband and dad ...maybe brother, uncle or friend. Their world is crumbling.

You're such an idiot. Most people would be sad to see all of their things lost to a fire, but home owner's insurance and community support can help rebuild and begin again in no time. That man had to be depressed in a serious way about something other than losing mere possessions.

How can you be so presumptuous to know whether he had fire insurance on his trailer and contents, or what degree community support was available to him this time of year ?

The man did what he needed to do good or bad.don't bash each other that just won't help anyone.Help the ones he left behind who need help , leave God out of it and do it because you want to help. The pain is in the ones that live ,death will take care of it's own and may it be gentle. And everyone have a wonderful Christmas and a prosperous New Year.

God doesn't offend me it's self ritgeous hipocrites that think god should kiss their rear ends.EVERYONE SHOULD STEP UP AND NOT PRAY FOR GOD TO HELP BUT TAKE IT UPON THEIR SELF TO DO THE HELPING.GOD NEEDS HELP HE CAN ONLY DO HIS JOB WITH YOUR HELP.STEP UP QUIT RUNNING OTHER PEOPLE DOWN WITH YOUR SELF WORTH AND DO SOMETHING WITH YOUR SOUL AND NOT YOUR MOUTH.FREE WILL IS YOURS LET EVERYONE BELIEVE THRIR OWN WAY .YOU SHOULD LET GOD JUDGE BECAUSE YOU ARE NOT WORTHY.MERRY CHRISTMAS I MUST LEAVE NOW AND FOREVER.
