Shearer in a pickle with this one. We see the school board took a back seat during their latest executive session at the recent school board meeting and now we will see what Shearer does with it in court.

OK DUHH What about the 13 year olds that were there drunk off of their ass? Social Services would have been called! I agree her husband should divorce her! He can do better and is a good man.
numba one - i don't know if there were even any 13 year olds there or not. i wasn't there and have not seen any of the evidence or heard the police make any press releases with that information. that is only rumor i've read on topix and i don't believe ANYTHING i see on here.

numba two - even if there were 13 year olds there, i wasn't there to see if they were drunk off their arses or not. i also haven't seen any of the evidence or heard the police make any press releases with that information. that is only rumor i've read on topix and i don't believe ANYTHING i see on here.

numba three - even if there were 13 year olds there drunk off their arses it still wouldn't mean social services could take custody of mrs hamms 18 year old daughter and send her to a foster home. in case you didn't know it when someone turns 18 they are of legal age to do just about anything they want to including joining the army without parental consent and even voting and social services can't remove them from their parents custody if they don't want to go.

numba one - saddam hussein didn't get shot, he was hanged. and if you didn't see it then it's your own fault because someone sneaked a video recorder inside the execution chamber and filmed it and posted it on the internet.

numba two - if you believe everything you read on topix then it's your own fault for being so gullible. but don't expect everyone else to swallow everything on topix hook line and sinker just because you do.

numba three - i didn't talk about how wonderful she is because i didn't even know her first name until this all happened so i can't talk good or bad about her because i don't know her well enough to form an opinion about that either way. but i don't form my opinions of ANYONE on a personal or professional level based on what i might read about them on topix. i base my opinions of people on what i know to be factual, not gossip i read on topix about them. and when this all goes to court and the facts of what happened comes out then i will form my opinions about what happened that night. until then i will continue to have no opinion about it.

Let's be honest about it! If it happened to people that stay in trouble with the law or someone with no money, the court would punish them to the full extent and they would be the talk of the town! But because of who she is, who she knows, and the fact that her family has money, nothing will be done to her. She'll get away with it!

i think she was charged with misdemeanors not felonies and as far as i know has no previous criminal record and therefore deserves some degree of liencey if she is ultimately found to be guilty. what you are suggesting is to give her the maximum sentence for a first offense just because she is a teacher. thats stupid because enhancing penalties for being a teacher is like making being a teacher a crime. example a drug dealers penalties are enhanced if they are caught with a gun while selling dope. that is to discourage drug dealers from carrying guns or at least to penalize them for doing it. but there is no basis in the law to enhance criminal penalties against someone simply because they are a teacher. being a teacher isn't a crime the last time i checked so how could the courts enhance the penalties against someone simply because they are a teacher and more importantly why would you even suggest such a foolish thing?

and as far as the school board not doing anything yet i think they are taking the right approach by waiting to see the outcome of the charges before they take any action. if they up and fire her and then she is later found to be not guilty then the school board has put themselves in a bad situation that could cost taxpayers a ton of money. by waiting to see what the courts do first they could be saving us hundreds of thousands of dollars.

That's interesting, you truly must be as stupid as you sound most of the time! Geez, if you get that I was defending the teacher from my above post, then wow, your assuming & imagination must really keep you entertained! What a stupid & absurd remark for you to make. Your mind reading skills are woefully lacking accuracy! For the record, since you seem to need it broken down because you cannot comprehend english, I have refrained from making ANY judgement of ANY kind regarding this teacher and/or kids. As I have stated in the other thread in number 40,247,254,& 255: I do not know the facts. I'm amazed y'all are still making wild assumptions no one seems able to back up with data or facts. I asked questions in my above post. Go back & read it slowly if that's what it takes for you to comprehend. I DID say in previous posts, I think ANY parent should refrain from drinking at their child's party, I do not know IF she was or not. I said also, it would be stupid of ANY adult to allow drinking at their home & allow a kid to leave (driving). I DID say I wasn't sure if this thing rose to the level of her losing her career over it or not. Again, because I do NOT have the facts. So now, in case you missed it again because of your presumptions, nothing I have said at any time is in DEFENSE of her, nor have I made statements against her. You get that now?

I agree with most of what you've written here in your posts, especially #2 here. I've been amazed lots of people around here are not only judging this teachers actions at a party & condemning her without all the evidence, but also have decided what the outcome of her career, marriage, & even her soul should be. Just sounds nuts to me. Anyway, thanks for what you've written.

If she is found guilty I beleive she should have to pay restitution by paying back every bit of the money she has been paid while she has to be off, and pay for her sub that they have had to get while she has been off.

Daily Horoscope for May 21

Capricorn

If you're feeling lonely and vulnerable, it seems as though someone is out to get you. Perhaps you're separated from the people you love and you don't like it. Try not to mope for too long, because there are important things that need your attention. Speaking of which, if you need to do something that you're dreading, you'll feel much better if you can get it out of the way quickly. If you leave it, the very thought of it will drain your energy.
