Hats off to the State of North Carolina

For amending their constitution to ban same sex marriage!!!!! Shows part of America still has a little bit of sense.

Very embarrassing but predictable for the South.

How is it embarrassing to want to keep traditional marriage traditional? Just because a certain group of people's values change does that mean the world needs to change with them? If that were true then other people who feel like minority groups, not talking about race here, would be able to change the worlds views of right and wrong.

This is the 30th. state to pass such a law. They're not that many states in the south.

Here comes the Supreme Court. I think even the republican Supreme Court rule in favor of equal rights, at least one can hope.

Congratulations are in order to the sane- Christain people to ban same sex marriage in North Carolina. If two men or two women want to live together, fine,but to be married if front of God in Heaven, no way, no how.

No doubt our world is changing, but for the worst.
Since the "government" took Bible class out of schools, they won't allow the 10 Commandments in the courthouse lobby, and now some churches have queer preachers, our country is going down hill fast.The "government" won't allow the Christmas decorations around the circle at the state hospital anymore, that was one thing my kids used to love to drive by and see, they couldn't believe the patients made them. What a shame what our world has become.We now must be "politically correct"

What's really embarrassing about this is that there are people posting here that think North Carolina and twenty nine other states are wrong. That sounds like a majority to me.

The people who voted for Amendment One in NC yesterday are simply afraid of change. And to think so many more people besides our gay brothers and sisters will be affected negatively by this selfishness. It's beyond disgusting.

Such wonderful Christian people on this particular post....Can you hear the sarcasm in my voice? Sarcasm, disappointment, and disgust is so-called people of faith for their shallow, narrow-minded, and straight up hateful response. It saddens me, hearing things like this from my hometown. Shocking that I ever decided to leave... Many churches and GOOD Christian people stood up against this incredibly discriminatory amendment. 60% of voting North Carolinians didn't even know everything involved in this amendment and how many people it would affect, not just same sex couples. We will be forwned upon and looked down on by the majority of our fellow Americans due to ignorant intollerence and blind hatred based simply on lack of knowledge and a stern refusal by old fashioned southerners to accept the change needed in the world to make things easier on all of us.

So we are ignorant for voting for this amendment? Unspoken lessons are contained within history. So let's let same sex couples marry, but let's look back in history so we can learn from other peoples mistakes. Sodom and Gamorah. There you have it, the lesson for today. It's not natural. There's not male dogs having relations with other male dogs everyday. Yes I try to live as a Christain but I fail. However I do know it was first Adam and Eve, not Steve.

I never said ignorant...shallow and narrow minded, absolutely. Yes, let's look back on history... at segregation and a time when interracial marriage wasn't allowed. That changed. Homosexuality isn't a new concept....they are people, just like you and me and deserve a right to be with the person that they love. It's a basic civil rights issue. How is their marriage affecting yours? It's not. It doesn't invalidate your love for your spouse. Just proves their love for theirs.

Why is gay marriage such a threat to some Christians? This country is not a theocracy, our laws are not the laws of the bible. In fact our laws are based on freedom of religion and FROM religion. It's the basis of our country.
