Black cougars/panthers/mountain lions/pumas do not exist anywhere. It's not genetically possible for them to be all black like people claim to see, anywhere. There are all black jaguars and leopards, but it's highly likely they are in the mountains of WV. I won't agree or disagree with the mountain lion sightings though. I've never seen one, my mother in law said she heard one a couple times where she used to live, and I saw a picture that someone posted that claimed to be local, but it looked like a trail cam picture, and that person is a known liar. So until I see one with my own eyes, I won't say yes or no. But if that day ever happens, I can guarantee I'll be too scared to use my camera or camera phone to take a picture.

I'm sorry, I meant to say "highly UNlikely" that jags or leopards would be in WV.

Iv lived on the head waters all my life except for the past few years iv seen big cat tracks in the sand but no cats and just like big foot people see him all the time but no good video or pics and with all the kinds of trail cams out they should be some great pics and video but nothing and the ones that say they Have them the news would pay big money for them and the story one may pass through but not stay as they have a large range the run as for black panthers don't think so the died out with the kkk so their it is proof is what you need and don't have traps have been set and nothing but bears dogs bobcats and fox caught

No one has ever seen a "black panther". They do not exist. There is no such thing. Not likely any mountain lions in WV.

I've saw three in the past ten years one brown one at Lockwood one that was ran over in persinger that was black and another black one in Calvin just think of all the bobcats we have we know for a fact they are here but seldom seen those cats are so quiet and stealthy they are hard to detect if you see one it's purely an accident

Probably from the same scientist that told you that we evolved from monkeys. I saw what I saw and there are not any monkeys in my family tree.

WIlliam wrote: If there are big cats in WV, how come no one has ever taken a picture of them? LOL This day in age that everyone has a camera phone ya think there might be a couple pictures or video. One thing to point out if there were mountain lions in WV (there are not) they would not be black the would be light brown. There have been several pics that ppl have taken of some type of large cat....not a bobcat. I myself saw one almost 20 yrs ago in the area I live in. It was black with a long tail. I have no idea what kind of big cat these animals are but they are large. I also had a strange incident yrs ago. I was living alone w/ my (at that time) 3 yr old son. Around 3am I heard a horrible scream. Like nothing I've ever heard. In a way it sounded like a woman and in a way it sounded like a child but really it didn't sound like either. The next day I contacted a hunter and he told me that it was what ppl in this area call a panther. Whether they are indeed panthers no one seems to know but the animal I saw was quite large. And did look like pics I have seen of panthers.

The ones you see on movies and calendars are wolves that were born in captivity. They are smart animals that know to stay far away from man. Hell, I have never even seen the coyotes everyone talks about. I know they are here. I see the tracks and hear the stories but never see them.

I saw one last summer on our hunting property in Calhoun County. It was up in the trees. The neighbor had seen it too.

Haha-if you research black panthers, you will read that a black panther, or mountain lion, whatever your name preference for these animals are, do not exist. Again, there are black leopards and jaguars, which are not the same as mountain lions. And yes, we evolved from prehistoric monkeys. It's a fact. Please don't try to argue against evolution, a process that is happening every single day to many different species, right in front of our eyes!

LOL I wonder if you use the medications those same "scientists" came up with? Bet you do, and that makes you a hypocrite.

I have never seen a wolf in the wild but we know they exist. There are numerous pictures of wolves, videos of wolves, mounted wolves, wolves in zoo's, wolves on tv. There are no pictures of a black panther, vidoes of black panthers, mounted black panthers or black panthers in zoo's or even on tv. Black panthers only exist in your imaginations along with Bigfoot and the Tooth Fairy.
