We had a great time, food was great, drinks were great. Food was a little pricey, drinks were at a good price for that kind of establishment. Go anywhere else in a bigger city and the price of specialty drinks are higher. There were 10 of us and the food came out in a timely manner and the staff was fantastic. So Im not sure what everyone expierenced, but ours was fantastic and we plan on going back for more.

I've come to enjoy the new pub. I'm toying around with which table to make Herme's table. (officially). I've also started making German dolls. If anyone is interested in purchasing one for Christmas, please stop in and see me. Tues, Thurs, Fri or Saturday.

It's a VERY attractive restaurant and bar,,,,we had a beer and appetizer before heading up the mountain. Service was great, food good, music fun. Will be back for dinner this weekend and am hoping the service, food, etc. will be as good.
Give it a chance, Ruidoso!

I think most Ruidosons are giving it a chance. I've been there three times and each time it's been better. One thing I noticed is a fishy smell when you walk in and I hope they get that resolved.

Went for lunch the other day. A bit pricy, they still are working out kinks. I have been involved with new restaurants before. With the amount of time they spent on training, etc you'd think they would have their act together better. Some basic operational issues are still lacking. Had fish and chips, it was OK but not worth the price. I hope they make it.

Funny, during their first employment ads the requirements were such that just about no one would qualify. Now I go in and see many people that have been through the courts working there.

speaking of going thru the courts.we had a bad expierence at one of the bars in town we gave the lady our credit card and the next thing I saw was the waitress with my credit card in her purse.I said" what`s the problem, why does my card need to go in your purse"she said" oh nothing Im just looking for a pen and your card was just in my hand is all"Well I don`t know how it happened but someone started charging up our credit card to the tune of 1,800 dollers and it was two months before I got it fixed.Strange thing about credit card theft no police dept wants to help you. They had me chasing my tail, untill I said" look somebody has to take a report or I can`t get my money".One police dept asked me to say where it was stolen, the next one aked where was it used and the third one said where do I live and each one was sure that I had to make my report with some one else besides them and they all said don`t worry the bank will pay you back so we won`t spend too much time trying to solve the case ,your bank is insured for that.So long story short never take your eyes off your credit card in a bar.
,because they might have one of those scanner things and you have to be carefull.I learned my lesson.

Do you fix dolls as well or do you know anyone ?The little rubber band things inside rotted out and need to be repaired. It`s a Hansel and Gretal doll made by Madame Alexander.Theier little arms and legs fell off and no one knows anyone to fix them.

I had some Mexican food in Ruidoso prior to flying out of Albuquerque the next morning and paid with my Visa. I'd left another of my credit cards in my vehicle after purchasing some gas, and so was left with just the Visa to make the cross country journey. When I went to use it at the airport, I was denied. I couldn't use it anywhere nor get any cash at the ATM. I called Visa only to find out that someone had used my card number to try to make a suspicious purchase . Therefore Visa had to close it leaving me with no money at all that entire day except for some change. Another Ruidoso waitress in action. The fraud was attemted only hours after I'd paid for my meal.

This is the kind of thing the chamber of comerce needs to know about.Florida is almost imposible to vist as a tourist because of this. The reason according to the police is that the crimials know that even if they get caught most people don`t want to come back and sit thru court. Could have been the same waitress. My waittress was a tiny little thing with bad teeth(Anglo in her 20s).What did your waitress look like. And I am not positive that this person did this maybe she really was looking in her purse for a pen!I was very lucky because Wells Fargo called me on the phone before things got worse, and I was at home to get the call.

The chamber of commerce? in Ruidoso? and what are they supposed to do about it? Most of the businesses in Ruidoso do not even belong to it because they are nothing more than a brochure rack and someone to answer the phone. The chamber should be closed and the land sold.
Regarding credit card fraud.....the poster who mentioned the scanner is correct-it did not have to be the server, it can be the guy sitting next to you. They say the only way to guard against scanning fraud is to wrap your cards in tin foil-wow, what is this world coming to?

I don`t think that the Chamber could do anything in a crime solving way,but they have a mission statement and they persue policys to improve busines.I mean the way I feel I will only pay cash if I can`t see what is going on.What other busines walks away with you card after you have been drinking and eating and having a good time. Here is something else ,it is easy to change the amount on the tip line in some cases from an 1 to a 4 or add a 0 The police in Las Vegas know every scam going and the police in Ruidoso and Ruidoso Downs could go on a trip to Las Vegas or some get training in some way and share this info.Listen If you go to a well established place the waiters are just like family and they work there untill they can`t walk anymore, some waiters I know make serious money at high end places,I am not talking about these waiters.but when all your help is "summer help" there is a higher risk.

Daily Horoscope for June 2

Aries

It won't be long before you start to feel bored today, unless you can distract yourself - you're switching from one activity to another. Ideally, you should keep yourself amused by doing something that's unusual or challenging, otherwise you'll be tempted to stir up trouble just to see what happens next! Even though you know that's a bad idea, you won't be able to resist, unless you've got something better to do with your time.
