It is apparent that some of those running can not even read and answer the question that was asked. Do we really want them on the board?

Isnt that Rose thats running for the school board the same Rose that got busted a couple years back for contributing to the delinquency of a minor?? Just who we need running things at a school.

Seems those questions were biased and aimed at incumbents on the board. When incumbents first started they knew very little. Change is good and needed.

People need to know a little about what they are getting into when they run for office,school board or otherwise. Change is good, but with three out of the five positions open, it's dangerous to remove all the experience and replace it with "I don't know anything but I want your vote." Our kids are at stake here.

Don't forget the forum tonight at 6:00 at commission chanbers.

Yes I am the one angelo Vega "ATTEMPTED" to railroad on a BOGUS charge of "contributing to the delinquency of a minor" but it didnt work. Took quite awhile and a lot of tax payers money to have two jury trials and bring back the star witness from Florida. I was told he had to be threatened in order to get him back here, but I dont know that for a fact. Here are some facts I DO know. He normally went to bed early and got up very early yet did not bring in the moving truck until well after dark and worked on loading it until 3AM and later. He just happens to have a record of being in and out of mental institutions and had a son who commited suicide after being raised by him, and he had peepholes in strange places within the home he lived in here in Zozo. His wife was a dear sweet lady loved by many, while he was a known menace in the neighborhood with very few friends. He liked to get his jollies by terrorizing kids and torturing animals. He also lost some of the very few friends he DID have, due to his actions and the false claims he made against me. He was not a very smart man, just a big man who liked to bully anyone or anything that he didnt see any use in sucking up to. Angelo and Ray McCreight were a perfect match. Within a couple of weeks even the (IMHO) very corrupt DA Scott Key figured out they were lieing and offered me all sorts of opportunities if I would just plead "no contest". I refused to play their corrupted game and fought it out. If I had known back then, what I do now, I would have sued the city of Carrizozo naming angelo Vega and a few others,and I would have won, just like everybody else I have heard of,has, when suing the city. And in case anybodys wondering, angelo vega had an axe to grind with me personally, because as newcomers to Zozo, I did not know angelo was a corrupt lieing sack of crap and made the mistake of trusting him. When all hell FINALLY broke loose between my son and his nephew, and he wasn't around, the head lady of juvenile correction/punishment in Doso found out angelo wasn't doing his job. Trouble happened on a Sunday and I was at the juvenile probation office bright and early Monday morning. I told her what HAD happened and what had BEEN HAPPENING and what angelo "CLAIMED" he had been doing to resolve the situation. Her name was something something Baca and she looked at me like I was telling tall tales and said "IF thats all true,then why havent "I" heard about it?" I told her that was a "very good question" and had her call both the Zozo city police and the Sheriffs office while I stayed in her office and listened to the calls. As I said earlier, angelo wasn't around to coach the city dispatch in what to say or handle the call himself. That meant everything I had just told the probation officer was confirmed. Both city police and Sheriffs Office told her how many reports we had made and actually read some of them to her, including the responding officers' reports. She told me she would take care of things from her end and I left. Shortly after that, angelo STOPPED being the local person to deal with the local juvenile offenders. My son and angelo's nephew were both young and friends before things went bad and today they are much older,wiser, and get along with each other once again. Most everything I just told you is a matter of record and the point of telling it at all, is that I am not a liar and will fight for whats right and true with everything and anything I can, and I DONT GIVE UP!

You can come in here and tell lies and misleading half truths all you want to, and you are probably one of the corrupt A-Holes who kept tearing down my charts with FACTUAL information from the "NM STATE PUBLIC EDUCATION DEPARTMENT" that factually PROVE the Zozo schools ARE, and HAVE BEEN, going downhill in MANY ways for a long time. I have deliberately not asked anyone to simply BELIEVE what I am saying. Instead, I provided the exact link on the official NMPED site and begged people to check it out for themselves. The only arguments and or explanations presented by Harkey and Sissy in response to the truth found in those charts, were bald faced lies and if I couldnt PROVE they were lieing, I wouldnt be publically saying it!
The fact that they were lieing is easy to prove, what wont be as easy to prove, is WHY? They have both been on the board long enough that they SHOULD know what is going on, especially Harkey,but DO THEY? OR, are they simply repeating what has been reported to them by somebody else who may have been trying to cover their own butts in front of the board? To be perfectly honest,I dont think there is anything Harkey could say or do that would surprise me, because he showed me his TRUE colors back in 97,but Sissy surprised me. I taped the candidates forum and can email it to anyone who wants to check it out for themselves,but no matter what,our school system and the kids in it are in trouble and continuing to lie and/or hiding the truth for ANY reason is only going to make things even worse The ONLY way the powers that be in the Zozo school system can defend themselves against the ugly truths that are harming all the children in our school system, is to LIE or prevent the ugly truths from becoming known in the first place. Cleaning up the multi layered mess within the Zozo school system might take longer due to who wound up being the current board members, but as community awareness of whats been happening, how its being done, who is doing it and why its happening, spreads, things WILL get better for the kids,staff and the community as a whole. Alls I can say at this point, is the the decent people who care about the kids and want to first understand, then FIX whats wrong, need to stay tuned to this thread. Or maybe another one started by me, if this ??fool?? hasn't got anything else to say.

One thing people can do to help RIGHT NOW, is to ask their kids which one of their classmates the teacher likes the best and how they can tell. Also ask them which child in their class does the teacher NOT like very much and how they can tell. Children of all ages are far more perceptive than most adults give them credit for, so quite a few people may be surprised at the answers they get. If you ask the kids these questions and are willing to post the "How can you tell" part of their answers in here, it would be great and very informative to other parents/caregivers who may be reading this. Be a little careful Rose...don't start name calling. I remember that you served a little stint in a mental institution and that you take heavy medications to control the bi-polar. Which was brought on from heavy drug use in your youth.

I cant help but wonder who you are, but it really dosen't matter because anybody and everybody who knows me will also know you are a liar. A liar simply trying to throw a shadow of doubt over anything I say. If you think that childish ploy would actually work, then you must be a few cards short of playing with a full deck and are assuming all the other readers are just like yourself. You can say anything you want to, but remember that your words in here are the only thing the readers have to judge your intellect and character. Your character traits are coming through loud and clear. One of those traits is that you very obviously care about something other than the well being and education quality of the Zozo students. As far as your intellect is concerned, you need to remember that I have never asked anyone to believe ANYTHING I have said. I have simply given people the tools to check the facts out for themselves. That means even if your lies about me, personally, were true, those same lies would also have to be true of everybody at the NMPED in order to dis-credit the factual information found in state level records. Care to try again? Anybody Else?? Let me help you. Try asking me exactly what Harkey and Sissy were so blatantly lieing about to the public and what my "PROOF" is that they were lieing. Short and sweet. If all the "expierence" of the current board members has led to the dismal state our school system is in today, then the only danger is in keeping them to do further harm. It would have been far wiser to bring in 3 new people who would have had to hit the books and learn the CORRECT way of dealing with being a board member and different situations the board must deal with instead of simply letting the older more "expierenced" members teach them the "local" ropes. Thats what I think. What do you think?

NO. I am simply truthful, even when the truth is not nice and I believe the entire community needs to be made aware of many things certain people would rather keep quiet. I also honestly care about this community, especially the children and our seniors. I believe there are far more good and caring people in Zozo than there are corrupt and self serving ones. If the John Q public knew the same things I do, instead of just the good (real and pretend)stuff, they would be mad enough at the school, to do something about it. Despite what people think, ONE person CAN make a difference, but if this community starts comparing notes, they will find out, just like I did, that they are not the ONLY ones with their paticular set of problems when it comes to what is, or is not, happening at the school. I HATE the corruption in Zozo, but as adults, "WE" choose what we will put up with, and what we wont. The plight of Zozo SCHOOL CHILDREN is a different story. They are not old enough to vote so are powerless to help themselves, and as long as the schools dirty secrets remain hidden from widespread community awareness, there is no hope of fixing the problems that are hurting our kids in soooo many ways. As it stands right now, many people have figured out something is drastically wrong at the school, but they dont normally find out until kids are in 11th or 12th grade and then its too late. There are others who either figure it out on their own, or are told/shown by someone else and pull their kids out of the Zozo school system. School board members publically talk about the money problems caused by the schools steadily declining enrollment numbers, but when have they talked about what is "CAUSING" the drastic decline in local enrollment? Think About It, PLEASE!! Then you can ask me again if I am "bi polar"

SOOO TRUE!!! The sad thing is that it shouldnt be that way, and it dosen't have to STAY that way either. I will be back later with some state level information along with a few very helpful phone numbers.

When a Zozo school sinks low enough to be put in SI-1, State law(?) says that parents are to be notified their kids school is in trouble and given a list of nearby schools who are not in SI-1 or worse. Parents/caregivers must also be told that their kids are eligible to attend those schools as long as those schools have room. Capitan is one of the schools that should have been listed in the notification letter that should have been sent out when any of our schools went into SI-1. I have asked a lot of people if they remember getting a notice like that but so far, nobody remembers getting one. Do you or anybody else remember even getting a notification that their kids school had gotten that bad?

So is our school S1? What exactly does that mean?

All things considered, especially several recent school happenings most of the community is already aware of, I think it's a good time to revive this thread. As a previous poster stated, it would be in the best interests of the kids education, if they were bussed to Capitan. Myself and a couple of others have been kicking and screaming at this community trying very hard to convince people to stop listening to what other people say and look at the "FACTS" for themselves. Why is it SOOOO hard for people, and I mean the GOOD people, not just the corrupted ones responsible for the current dismal school condition, to understand that with longstanding corruption, the people they are listening to are very likely to have been fooled themselves? Assuming that school authorities, with lots of time and practice, have learned to do their dirty work and keep it hidden VERY WELL, it makes complete sense that even the rightfully respected and trusted people in the community have also been fooled by the corruptions expert ability to hide their true activities which sopport priorities other than the kids education and well being. In the very near future the adults in this community are going to have to decide what their top priorities are regarding this school system and the communities children. Big question is going to be whether or not people want to keep the kids in Grizzlie Red instead of Tiger Orange bad enough to sign a piece of paper showing the state this community cares enough to make the drastic changes needed in order to correct what their records are showing them in black and white facts to be wrong. One last thing I would like people to stop and think about is fact that their has been a lot of negative publicity about bad things happening at our school. That much is FACT. That being true.... how come there has not been any response from the school saying that all these ugly things are "NOT TRUE", and or giving explanations for things that have been said out of context? If there has been this type of public response from the school. I personally have not seen it, but would like to. So if it exists I would be grateful for information as to where it can be found. The flip side, and obviously alarming side of that is if it does not exist because what has been reported is TRUE and there is no defense for it. AND, if its all true, what effect have those truths had, are having and will have, on Zozo students of the past present and future? Almost forgot!! The answer is "NO" I am not bi-polar. Are you?

The school is surely great in Capitan, no complaints there. You parents would have no problems there, but wait....except for those pesky gestapo security guards....but thats okay too ...they'll keep your kids in line and ticket them everyday coming in and going out...ya!! that's the Capitan way!!So bring em...more revenue for Sam's town!!!

I have no idea what you are talking about, but whatever it is, it is only a part of the overall way the Capitan school system is being run. Ever heard the old saying that the "proof is in the pudding"? Or maybe that "Actions speak louder than words"? Keeping in mind that a schools sole purpose for even existing in the first place is to ensure that all American children have a right to, and ARE GETTING, the education they need to become productive and hopefully successful adult members of the workforce, then education QUALITY should be any schools top priority. Capitan schools may not be perfect, but Capitan students currently are, and for several years, have been, beating the crap out of Carrizozo Students in test scores on the exact same state tests given to all kids in NM public schools. Capitan is almost always testing at least double the number of kids as Carrizozo does and sometimes even TRIPLE,and they do it with a higher student to teacher ratio to boot!! Meeting AYP standards dosent really determine how well the kids are being educated because there are many ways to make AYP without getting good grades and the smaller a district is, the lower the grades are that they have to meet. Thats because there are special grading formulas for classes and groups of less than 25 students. What tells the more truthful tale of how well a school is actually educating a communities children, is to compare the local school districts students test scores with students scores from same size districts. Take the time to do that like I did, and you will see why the charts I made with that info were ripped down everywhere (accept Four Winds) that I put them up. The TRUE facts pertaining to education quality in Zozo, is something that school authorities and friends, have worked very hard, and taken extremely LOW MORAL actions, to prevent community from knowing. AYP testing only counts the scores of students that have been in same school for the full school year, so logically a class of ten students in same school same class with same teachers, with those teachers time and teaching skills divide among ten students, should be able to score better than the bigger schools with bigger classes and teaching staff with less time to spend with each individual student YET CAPITAN CONSISTANTLY BEATS US?? Problem is that both Logic and education quality are both in short supply for the Carrizozo school kids and thats why Capitans students test scores are higher than ours. Bottom line is that parents who understand how important a quality K-12 education is to the rest of a kids life, are getting their kids away from Carrizozo school system in any way they can. And who in their right minds can blame them? Not Me! Its really sad because our schools used to be great and can be again, but not without some immediate and drastic changes being made by the now informed adults in this community. The people in Santa Fe who are struggling with the budget cuts and trying to save money any way they can do not make decisions based on who and what they know about people in Zozo, they make budget cut and school consolidation decisions based on cold hard facts as to how well a school is doing its job and whether or not they can save the state money by closing schools with crappy academic track records and bussing those kids to schools that will provide them with a better education.
