Odd Mr. Bryant cites US supreme court cases when the matter concerned only state law. What a legal eagle that misses the state cases here in NM stating clearly that as creations of the state political subdivisions only have the powers granted them by the legislature. Why not cite the NM cases supporting Alborn's authority under state law to issue this order instead of obtuse cases with no bearing on the matter.

That is the sort of man city hall employs against you.

I can't help it. I really feel sorry for Mrs. Alborn, even though I know how disliked she is around this town. I can just imagine the poor dear's embarrassment and humiliation over this. The mayor basically got a resounding vote of no confidence from his council. Ouch!

That case had nothing to do with this issue. That was one of those 2atf sissies trying to act the bad ass with his 150 pound useless body and a gun in a crowded theater. Too bad the people he was meaning to intimidate did not just beat him senseless and shove that pistol in his ass. The ringleader of that Alamo2atf, Justin cummins was arrested for shooting blindly down his driveway because he thought that one of his many enemies was coming to beat him up. Like a convention of insane mini men from the very low income sector sporting crew cuts and pistols to make themselves look menacing. It is that kind of loser that becomes the poster child for gun control.

If mr alborn runs his house like he runs Ruidoso I feel sorry for her. But she made her bed now she must sleep in it.

Alborn is a village mayor, NOT the governor or President. If he has that much authority Heaven help us! On the other hand, if he has that much authority, why hasn't he gotten rid of Debi Lee, BY EXECUTIVE ORDER? The reporter had her title partly right, "clerk" suits her just fine. That is really all she is qualified to be. Irma Devine could NEVER be replaced by Debi Lee, as it is MS. Devine runs circles around Debi Lee both in qualifications, Knowledge AND Professionalism.

Gladys Smith and Little Stinker have any compassion for Mrs mayor?
You are both either very devoted Christians or you do not know her. She walks around with the same attitude as her husband. They are very prejudice, and hypocritical. They don't like Hispanics, Native Americans, or Blacks.
She is very opinionated, of people she knows nothing about or the jobs they do. She probably believes she is still rubbing elbows with the professors and coaches wives at Rice.
Personally, she is just as pathetic as her husband.
And that is my opinion......

Don't forget that this is the same Mayor and COuncil that gave the village manager a raise knowing full well at the time the village audits were rated "F". Pretty pathetic group, IMO.

Michael, the case has everything to do with the matter at hand. Have you turned anti-rights on us? Read the case again. You are better than that.

Perhaps he is not "anti rights" but has his own opinion about gun control which defies the Consitution. And to say the U.S. Constitution has no significance regarding this matter is a real misstatement by Mr. Carpetbagger Morris.

I took the time to read the lawsuit all the way through. I do not know the man who was accosted in the theater so as far as making a judgment on his character I cant. But according to the case he threatened no one and the one person that was concerned enough to call the police did not feel threatened to the point that they left the theater. Those around did not feel threatened either. I do see a parallel between the two cases. The mayor and chief of police might want to read it to get a glimpse of what there in for.

You might want to wear your spurs to this rodeo.

Well I'm glad that part of it all worked out for you guys. Some including the Mayor, the City Attorney, and some of the councilors couldn't pass an 8th grade civics class. I see the far left pin heads can only resort to school yard name calling. Mr. Moris, a shrink can help you with your hoplophobia.....O.L.

This link is good: http://www.leagle.com/xmlResult.aspx...

But it isn't quite the same thing. The rules involving private property are different than "government" property. Private property can be simply posted and we can't carry in those places. That is by statute. Our constitutions is what limits "government". That's not to say they (the government) doesn't break the law all the time by passing unconstitutional laws, they do. Then we have a recourse, the soap box, the ballot box, and the jury box...The last resort is the cartrage box..By design....O.L.

They were quite simply demonstrating their right to bear arms, as citizens of N.M. They are to be commended for taking a stance on what they truly believe in.

Daily Horoscope for June 2

Aquarius

You won't like it if you feel your wings are being clipped today. You want to do something in particular, only to discover that someone is objecting to your plans or that circumstances beyond your control are standing in your way. Although your instincts tell you to throw a tantrum to get your point across, you must ask yourself what this will achieve, and whether it will actually be self-defeating.
