you can kill needs to be over absolutely. you can ethically shoot a dart gun, and move the animal to the top of the mountain. remember the mama bear they killed on 2nd street in ruidoso? that was murder, just as if a person had died.

There are many in the community besides Seine who believe a tranquilizer shot and removal beyond 30 miles would have been more humane. All of the animals are suffering due to water levels and lack of vegetation.

it's sad to see such a beautiful and graceful animal be put down due to thirst and hunger. The animal could have been relocated to a suitable area without the threat of repeating itself. I'd rather see a politician put down than an animal like that.

So they come to town. Henceforth and ergo, so did the lion come looking for food. And he got one too, dummy.

You are the idiot that does not know what is going on in this community. Your probably one of those that feeds the deer making the problem worst. The natural preditor of the urban deer use to be the automobile, now because of the growth of the herds all over town, we now have lions.

I agree with huh! The urban deer live there/here whether there is a drought or not! One can see the same deer when there is lush vegetation in the wild. We are seeing several generations of "urban" deer now, and they know no other home. We have seen people hand feed the deer from their back doors, or putting hay or other food out for them. I have seen deer come up to a house and stand by the back door waiting, on schedule, for their hand out. Their is still plenty of room for all of us. The only problem with increased human population vs. the deer, is not that more people are encroaching,it is because more people are feeding for what they think are good and caring motives, and are, infact, doing more harm! Now we have a beautiful dead lion, that SHOULD HAVE been relocated!

we'll see how some of these folks react when they get an arm taken off or their grandkids get eaten. it isn't rocket science, its law of nature. protect yourself if your in danger. no animal life is worth more than a human life or leg for that matter. if you are lost in the woods and lion eats you he isn't going to jail and probably won't even be looked for. if he comes in to your yard and you shoot him you could go to jail. how much sense does that make? liberal science loving greenies with nothing better to do.

I agree with you about the kids getting eaten,What was the policeman or gamewarden to do but shoot the poor animal can anyone imagine how upset everyone would be if a child got attacked .In the foothills in southern Calif.these mountain lions are eating dogs cats people whatever they can.Same thing with sharks yeah they are great and all that but they like to bite surfers that are wearing wet suits. If you were put in the gamewardens shoes you might do the same thing.

I wonder why they couldn't tranquilize and relocate the animal. Such a shame to waste a beautiful animal
