I just read Mr.McEntire's letter to the editor entitled "Counting Blessings". If you haven't read it, you should. What a wonderful story he tells. May his beloved daughter live a long happy life. This, thanks to the Hubbards, I might add. I do not know the Hubbards, never met them, but I have read many derogatory comments on this board about them. And contrary to what some here must believe, their family obviously does some very good things for people they do not even know.

Even the terrorist organisation Hamas gives to charity. Don't mean sh*t.

I'm sure the McEntire family is grateful their daughter is alive & they have the Hubbards to thank for it. And I doubt they asked if the gesture was for PR or just kindness.

Look at it this way, it used to be that the community came together and there were fund raisers and donations through the various churches and even anonymous donations by some well off good soul. That still happens across the nation when radio, television and print media make an effort to inform the community of the situation. The Hubbards whined that their taxes were too high. Now we, the average citizen are subsidizing those taxes. What are we as a whole community getting out of it? Fine that the Hubbards are helping these people out, but it should NOT have become a PR issue!

If I recall, he got legislation passed for the humane treatment of animals and he adored his dog.
