So, what is the status on the investigation?

A natural reaction to being stonewalled is mistrust,I doubt if rumors would circulate if credible info was being released. So I hope the investigators will hurry up and finish their work.

Hey Alborn. Want the rumors to stop? Put some duck tape over the mouth of your new fire chief. Never seen a Village employee in the press more than this guy and I have never seen the Village brag on an employee more than this guy. You would think he found a cure for cancer or something.

You will notice he does not tackle the conflicting statements of white and vincent which is what caused most of the speculation. Instead he starts his own rumors to counter those circulating. It is the best he can do. He is just not that smart. That is why his manner dominates the story rather than his insights. The entire point of his appearance was to tell people to shut up and to spread some legends unsupported by any fact.

Who the FK cares whether this douchebag is pleased or not. He works for us. He needs to do the job he's failed to do and please the people who pay his salary. The VOR seem to think they are a part of the English Monarchy. your public servants. You're not high fallutin mental think tanks changing the world. Is Vincent the fire chief or not? On one web site he is, on another website he isn't. How did he get the job? Where is the public's right to information?

why would we ever be giving away that much potable water to Ruidoso Downs? Doesn't the water belong to the village? Is the Downs being billed for the water you did give away? Even though it wasn't potable it is still a precious commodity to us. Speak up.

Seems as if our Village government is always pissed off at some one, picking a fight with other politicians or giving the citizens a lecture on how to behave.

Ruidoso makes plenty of tourism dollars off of the Ruidoso Downs Racino. In Feb. absent and irresponsible Ruidoso home owners wasted how many millions of gallons of water?

Why doesn't Ruioso Downs pay the same amount for a flat rate for water as Ruidoso. I have heard it is because they are poor? Yes, they bring is $$$ but they also make money as well. I don't know about you but I live in Ruidoso and I am not wealthy either. Everyone needs to pay their fair share.

Residents of Ruidoso need to ban together on this and make it happen. If you bring in up at the VOR monthly meeting during your five minutes of open forum, Mr. Alborn would probably just ask you to SHUT UP or not let you speak at all. I think he should keep a bottle of booze at the Village so he is not so impatient at the meeting. He could use a coffee mug so as not to be so obivious, not that it isn't obivious that he doesn't want to be there anyway!!! Why did he want to be Mayor in the first place? I guess he is the only one that can answer that!!

There seems to be a pattern developing here. Mayor Alborn blasting his whistle at meetings, having someone ejected from a meeting, complaining about Topix and now trying to quash discussion about this recent fire disaster all seem to indicate that he has a problem with freedom of speech. The VOR isn't providing the answers that people are seeking regarding what and who ignited the White Fire. Is there possibly a pyromaniac about who may try the same thing again but more strategically central to Ruidoso and jeopardize the entire village? I don't know who started the fire or how, but I want to know and I also want to know what others know since we are not getting any official reports regarding the investigation of the fire. You'd think the Mayor would be pressing for those answers as part of his responsibility to his constituents instead of lecturing his fellow citizens and trying to limit conversation that seems more than reasonable considering the muddied circumstances surrounding this catastrophe.

Amen to that! It seems everyone has been squashed regarding information released except Mr. Vincent!! I wonder who advised him to release information or was he trying to cover his own or father in laws butt? Maybe Ms. Lee, since he is her fair hair or no hair boy! Mayor Alborn should be asked to resign if he doesn't want to do his job as Mayor. As far as I know, we are still, but barely, a decomocracy.

Alborn announced to anonymous letter and e-mail authors that unless the missives are signed and have an address to allow him to respond, they end up in the wastebasket. "Maybe I can't solve it, but with an address and phone, at least we can talk." Mayor...many municipalities actually encourage anonymous feedback from their citizens, such as 311 complaint lines and written suggestion boxes, in order to maintain strict confidentiality. Do people in Ruidoso need to fear exploitation in order to bring a simple concern to the attention of our government?
