SHOULD and HOPE are big words with the coach leading the team. Unless something changes, Alamogordo will never see the success we had before.

"Heavy favorites??????" Really? Cruces High is returning their entire team and their two huge inside posts both return. I am looking at the pre-season polls and the Tigers are far from "heavy favorites" to win anything. Show me a poll that says we are heavy favorites. I dare ya. I think we can be competitive, if the boys can overcome the coaching.

Watched the tigers play yesterday in Artesia they were playing great ball. The varsity boys and JV were kicking everybodies butt. What was so sad was the Bulldogs complex compared to ours! The town of Artesia has Bulldogs on all there stores everywhere you go people have orange on. That town makes us look like a bunch of non caring chumps! So if you want to talk crap about the tigers maybe you should take a look in the mirror! As a supporter were do you rate? THATS WHAT I THOUGHT! SO,SO, SAD!

Big J- I totally agree with you as far as support goes. I'm an import from down south where high school sports (support for the kids) rule. When I periodically travel through Artesia and Tularosa, the first thing I notice is the orange and burgundy, respectively. The ENTIRE TOWN supports their children. The number of empty seats at tiger home games baffles me. NO home field/court advantage whatsoever.

I can remember a time when we did have a home court/field advantage;)

The Tigers have skilled players they played a good game of bball. Saw the last game against Roswell the Tigers beat the last undefeated team by 1 point through some excellent team work.

Tigers went 6 wins 2 losses. Support them they have talent!

Just got back into town from a wedding in Artesia and didn't see the same thing you saw "Big J". I saw the first 3 games yesterday and its clear who you will be babysitting this year. I have never been on a team when a player continually shows his a$$ & gets away with it. I know you know who I am talking about. When are you going to discipline your players for their outbursts? I really thought you all played better when he wasn't on the floor. There are too many kids with more talent and better attitudes on this team for you and them to have to deal with that crap.

There is one player who will never be eligible to play his Senior year after flunking every class.(And don't worry about how I know this, I just do, and it is 100% fact) Who knows, the coach may arrange to have his grades altered AGAIN. But to graduate from high school this person will have to go to Academy Del Sol to acquire the necessary credits.

I will always root for the athletes, but I cannot root on this coach. He has no morals or ethics, on the court or off.

Time for Madden to fade away.

I thought they did good. Very impressed with the jv coach, not afraid to let the kids know what is expected. Should be a good year.

I think your talking about the first game. The tigers had just got off the bus after getting up at 4:30 to catch the bus 2 hour drive and then went straight to the floor to play. Coach played some of the up coming JV players in that game to give them some varsity play time. Of course the lakers got blown out of the playoffs and the heat lost the championship so why don't you go talk your stuff over there!

Now it makes sense why there were a couple kids playing on both teams. There were some kids that didn"t need to play with the varsity. Can really tell who the younger kids are because they seem to be lost out there most of the time.

The bigger kid is 6'6'' and an upcoming freshman he has come along way but still is trying to catch up with his growing spurt. He played some dominate ball on the JV team. He's better than JV but needs to pickup the pace to handle how the varsity tigers are playing! But then again he does have 4 more years and at least a couple more inches to grow!

He doesn't act like that all the time. Maybe after playing 6 or 7 games you would get tierd and cranky also!
