False teaching in Royse City

Chad Hays is the senior pastor of First Baptist church here in Royse City. In a document he sent me a few years ago he made the following statements about salvation.

"This view is based upon the grammatical construction of the verse as well as the theological testimony of the New Testament concerning salvation by faith alone."

"Salvation is by faith alone and not by any works.
Ephesians 2:8-9"

This is the old evangelical false doctrine of salvation by faith alone. The word alone or only appears nowhere in Eph. 2:8-9.

In fact "faith alone" is not found anywhere in the N.T. in connection with true salvation.

It is found in one place-

James 2:24
You see then that a man is justified by works, and not by faith only.

I am sure this man has led many to Christ and just because you had a difference of opinion doesn't give you the right to slander him.

He has not led people to Christ teaching the "faith alone" false doctrine.

Have you not read in the Bible where false teachers were "called out"?

I'm sorry to hear that you and your family has been deceived by Chad's false teaching. If you'd like to have a Bible study with me I can show you and your family from your own Bible why the "faith alone" doctrine and the Baptist church are wrong. I have nothing personal against Chad, but I do believe he is deceived and he is deceiving others. I can prove it.

It is interesting that people believe and teach faith only salvation. If salvation indeed were by faith alone then we would be sharing heaven with the devil.

James 2:19 says that the demons believe that God is one. It says nothing about putting their faith in Jesus.

It is the means by which the grace of God is accounted to the believer who trusts in the work of Jesus on the cross (Eph. 2:8). Without faith it is impossible to please God (Heb. 11:6). It is by faith that we live our lives, "The righteous shall live by faith," (Hab. 2:4; Rom. 1:17).

I don't see the devil and his demons trusting in the work of Jesus on the cross. They are not certainly receiving His free gift.

Yet according to James the demons have what it takes to claim faith alone (James 2:19).

I guess we thought the samething at the same time.(here goes are you ready? LOL)

Guys, don't worry about Shawn Heath Paden's fits of jealousy. I have talked with Chad before about his experiences with Shawn. He has already met face to face with him on several occasions.

He has shown Shawn exactly how and where he is wrong just like he has been proven wrong time and time again on this board. All Shawn does is deny the truth and make attacks. Nothing new.

Shawn believes his interpretations and understandings of all scripture are perfect and without error. If you do not conform to his teachings then you are going to Hell.

The fruit of Shawn's minitry is quite evident and is proof of his errors.

The best thing to do with him is to ignore him and don't add fuel to his fire. Eventually he'll just fizzle out.

In the mean time, pray for him and his congregation, that they will encounter the truth and that God will set them free in Christ.

Heath do you go to church? Are you saved?
