I recently heard that Bill and Denise Fort will be moving to be near their kiddos and grandkids. Although I am very happy to see them get to do this, I am also aware that this will be a great loss to our community. They have had such a positive impact on our town, our school district, and the First Baptist Church for the past 25 years and they will be sorely missed. I hope everyone will take a minute and thank them both for all that they have done for us.

Saved by His sovereign grace that opened my eyes to His Holy Word that brought about saving faith in Jesus Christ for God's glory.

You don't have the courage to even hold a conversation with me on the phone. We've never met.

"I am from BVBC Baptist SBC"

Wow. Never red that in the Bible.

I'm a Christian.

Acts 11:26, "...and the disciples were first called Christians in Antioch."

Acts 26:28, "And Agrippa replied to Paul,'In a short time you will persuade me to become a Christian.'"

1 Peter 4:16, "but if anyone suffers as a Christian, let him not feel ashamed, but in that name let him glorify God."

Acts 4:12, "And there is salvation in no one else(Christ); for there is no other name under heaven that has been given among men, by which we must be saved."

Clement - "We give Thee thanks that we are called by the name of the Christ, and are thus reckoned as Thine own."

Polycarp (his dying words)- "I am a Christian!"

Martin Luther (Lutheran, Life of Luther, page 289)- "I pray you, leave my name alone; call yourselves not Lutherans, but Christians."

John Wesley wished that the very name Methodist should never be mentioned again, but be buried in eternal oblivion (Methodist, Universal Knowledge, Volume IX, page 540)- "Would to God that all party names and unscriptural phrases and forms which have divided all Christians might be forgotten."

Charles Spurgeon (Baptist, Spurgeon Memory Library, Volume I, page 168)- "I hope the name Baptist will soon perish but let Christ's name live forever."

Adam Clarke (Methodist)- "Now as these had their name from those great masters because they attended to their teaching, and credited their doctrines, so the disciples were called Christians, because they took Christ for their teacher, crediting His doctrines, and following the rule of life laid down by Him."

Did you notice what your hero Spurgeon said about the Baptist name?

Hi William. I like this thread. A positive thread thanking someone and encouraging a couple in thier lives. I do hope that they enjoy thier family and I hope they give God the glory. Give the Fort's a hearty good bye and wish them the best with thier family.

Please ignore the pesky fly that is flying around in this thread.

Buzzzzzzzzzz

Give God the glory in His church, which is not the Baptist church.

Eph 3:21
to Him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus to all generations, forever and ever. Amen.

Was he a member of the Fort family?
That's what this Thread is about. The Fort family. Your ego makes you think you can jerk this Thread away from it's purpose without any apologies to the ones you are jerking it FROM.
You, heath, are not a nice person. Your denomination has made you into the rude person you are now.
Our apologies to the Family of Fort. Maybe we can drag this spoiled child back to his own playground.

Sorry, Opie that your thread was hijacked-some people just don't know how to behave.

I don't know the Fort family-but they sound great, and I wish them the best as they move closer to family and pray they are blessed through that.

Don't know the Fort famiy. Fort Elementary was named after him He was superintendent here about 25 years or so. Did a great job with the district and with personnel. We were in deep financial trouble when he came, and we never have been in that kind of trouble since. He was a great man to work for and loved RCISD. Then he got involved with the city and tried to help there. Think he gave that project up. A great man. He will be missed by many of us. There will no longer be anyone around who loves the district like he did.

By the way, Heath. Stay off these threads. I do not know how you have the time to sit on these things and make people mad like you do. Crazy to me. Seems like your parishoners would give you the boot. There is talk..........

This is kind of sad. This sounds like the school district will never be the same again. I'm sure this Fort fellow is a good man, but surely somebody else up there cares about the school.
