1 SO PROVE IT!!" Did you mean, "You've yet to prove my ignorance, friend", or something else? You've got to start proofreading your stuff before you press that Post button, heath. YOU WANT PROOF? If so, reread these threads around here. Proof is given to you, and you vanish like the wind, or start posting the Articles of Men on different subjects....you don't LIKE proof, and you refuse to admit it when it is shown to you point-blank. And guess what, heath? Everybody but you knows it.... |

This is not a Heath forum. Preaching should be done at the pulpit. However it sure does get people to respond..

1 Ok. Fair enough. And "proof" doesn't get past your defenses. So, there's not much use trying anymore. Only the Spirit Himself can pound anything into your head now...us humans can't get through the filters and blockages you've got in your head... |
|
|
Heath, I thought my title was "POOR ignorant friend".... Since when did you change it to simply "ignorant friend"?
Please keep me informed of any future changes in my identity. |
|
"Prove it"?! It has been proven over and over and over again-but you are right, William-humans "proof" even when given through scripture has not worked, so only the Spirit Himself will be able to break through what he has built up. Everybody does know it but him-he just continues to live in his own "reality" called self-denial. |

It's necessary for the preservation of the "One True Church" he's preaching at.
Dodging, diving, jumping around, it's all part of doing what heath has to do to avoid being correctly labeled as "just another denomination". Such a Truth brought to light would be the end of Heath's World....can't have that... |

If only heath would go back and read the scriptures with a truly open mind, allowing the Spirit to reveal it's meaning to him. It would change who heath IS as a person. It might actually make him into a nicer guy, believe it or not.

1 That is the false teaching of Calvinism that says the Holy Spirit must reveal the meaning of the Bible to a person. The Bible itself is the revealed meaning of the Holy Spirit. Ps. 119:105 Eph. 3:1-5 Again william sounds like the typical Baptist. That's what they teach. He's a rebel with a Baptist cause. lol See, I have no problem identifying william's false teaching. www.roysecitycoc.org |

False Ideas about the Holy Spirit
By WAYNE JACKSON Special Spirit Illumination It is commonly argued that the Bible is not sufficiently lucid to lead men in the pursuit of the godly life. We should study the Scriptures, it is contended, but in order to understand them, we also need the special illumination of the Spirit of God. Roy Zuck of the Dallas Theological Seminary has written:“The [Bible] interpreter must also depend on the Holy Spirit.” He cites H.C.G. Moule:“The blessed Spirit is not only the true Author of the written Word but also its supreme and true Expositor”(Zuck 1991, 23). If this view is correct, here is an interesting query. Is the Spirit as infallible in his exposition as he was in his initial revelation? If the answer is yes, then all who are illuminated by the Spirit should be flawless in their exegesis of the Bible, and totally united in their understanding of Scripture. But such is not the case. Numerous scholars claiming Spirit illumination are constantly disagreeing in their theological opinions. Moreover, it is the epitome of inconsistency to argue for “supernatural illumination,” and then produce a textbook setting forth the rules for correct biblical interpretation—as Dr. Zuck has done. The fact is, the Bible clearly teaches that one can read and understand the testimony of the sacred Scriptures (Ephesians 3:4; 5:17). But we are told that Paul taught that the “natural man”(i.e., one not illuminated by the Spirit) cannot “know” the things of God (cf. 1 Corinthians 2:14). The illumination theory imposes upon this context a notion that simply is not there. In this text Paul is suggesting that the natural man (i.e., one not taught of the Spirit by means of God’s appointed spokesmen—v. 10) receives not the things of God (i.e., spiritual truths). Such things are foolishness to him, and he cannot “know”(ginosko—to know experimentally) them. Such matters must be discerned spiritually (i.e., they are communicated by the revelation process—ultimately embodied in the Scriptures). The “natural man” is not privy to spiritual truth intuitively. No one, naturally (i.e., apart from revelation) can know the mind of God. There is no reference in this context to the Spirit’s “illumination” as a requisite to understanding the Scriptures. Rather, the emphasis is upon the fact that truth is received by divine revelation, not human intuition. www.roysecitycoc.org |

"If only heath would go back and read the scriptures with a truly open mind, allowing the Spirit to reveal it's meaning to him." william said.
Actually heath, you yourself are living proof that I'm right. |
|
|
First, heath, you label me as a member of "The Way International". You said to let you know if you were wrong, and I did...and you never answered back. You were "wrong", which is something that is hard for you to accept.
Now you've labeled me as a typical Baptist! When are you gonna get it right? |

1 The passage; "No eye has seen, no ear has heard, no mind has conceived" has nothing to do with Heaven, as your group commonly teaches. It instead has to do with "God's secret wisdom" that only the Spirit can reveal to a man. You have not received much of that wisdom yet, simply because of your unbelief in this spiritual truth. It's not a "calvinist" doctrine, by the way. It's a Biblical doctrine. |

Even Truths like Romans 1:7 have eluded you heath, because of your unbelief in the workings of the Spirit. "In the Gospel a righteousness FROM God is revealed, a righteousness that is by faith from first to last, just as it is written; "the righteous will live by faith".
This basic Christian teaching is totally foreign to your understanding, heath. Your church has caused you to understand righteousness as coming from yourselves and your own wonderful works, rather than teaching you to submit to this "righteousness from God" that is by faith instead. Many such Truths are hidden to those like you, who continue in your unbelief. And your blindness will remain as long as your unbelief continues to remain. |
