Does anyone know the actual status of the Pretzel Depot at the former Royersford train station? The place has been closed recently and the website is apparently now suspended. There was no answer or message on their phone either.

A Christmas poinsettia plant is on the counter so it could not have been closed too long.

I hope the place reopens ASAP. The pretzels there are wonderful. Perhaps the owner could make some larger Christmas wreath shaped pretzels. They would sell VERY well right now and would be great to bring along to parties and family get togethers.

Please bring back Royersford's Pretzel Depot !!

Oh no... I love that place. I don't know what the deal is with them, but I do know the business is for sale. I saw it on a real estate website when I was looking up a house that was for sale in town. I love their egg salad on a pretzel bagel. Good idea about the wreath!:)

Walked passed it this weekend. There were a couple of "Closed" signs on the door and all the windows were covered.

I know they were almost at the end of the lease. I heard they are moving to a new outside of the immediate area. Bummer for Rofo!

I was there yesterday and saw the "closed" sign and cardboard in the windows. I really enjoyed their pretzels, and hope this is not a permanent closure. If they are relocating, it might be wise to put that info on the website or in the window.

As far as the entire building, a dog grooming place just opened in the same facility.

Yet another business has left Royersford, not shocking since the "revitalization" of Royersford is non existent. Maybe if some of the landlords would give up their trashy buildings on Main street, we could have some businesses move in that could make a difference in the look of this area. I live here, so I'm not downing the area without knowing it. I'm just someone who bought a house here with the hopes of a small town revitalization like Phoenixville. Oh, we have nice sidewalks and street lights but what's all that with nothing else to show. Best of luck always to the businesses that exist on Main now, your our only hope.

I always found myself wanting to go to the depot on a Monday, but then they were closed on that day.

It was also a tough place to get in and out of, which may have hurt their business. Being secluded from other businesses (selling things) may have hurt them as well.

If they do relocate somewhere else they may have a better chance of making a go of it. I would certainly visit them if they were some place not too far away.

I had checked out Pretzel Depot for water ice in 2008 shortly after moving into Rofo. The guy who took my order seemed annoyed that a customer was bothering to give him business. After that experience, I never went back to Pretzel Depot & even wondered if it was a front for something else.

The person who opened the dog grooming salon next door to Pretzel Depot has a great idea given the number of local dog owners who enjoy walking their dogs along the nearby trails.

There has to be another great idea for a business to replace Pretzel Depot. Maybe a veterinary clinic or bike rental place? Maybe a local bait & tackle shop?

I miss the Depot, as their pretzels were the best. I wonder what happened? They always seemed to have customers, and during holidays were quite busy. It's a shame to see such a great, area asset lost.

I was often leary of the guy you mention here. Somewhat abrasive, doesn't always know how to communicate well with everyone. After going a bunch, I got a few smiles, and laughs out of him. He's just different. As for the "front," don't be silly. They made pretzels, damn good ones, and often had some cools specials (stromboli, pizza, brats, sausage, etc.). The little woman that was almost always there was super sweet. I loved that place, I will surely miss it.

PS... Jalapeno cream cheese was the best thing I've ever eaten.

I feel for this guy if the business failed. He needed to get more support from the local youth leagues who would rather subsitute quality for quantity.

Daily Horoscope for May 21

Pisces

It's a great day for fixing anything that needs attention now. That might be a dripping tap, a sick child, an unpaid bill or a miffed partner. However, you'll do particularly well if you need to sort out something connected with official or joint finances or red tape. You might be asked to help someone deal with a bureaucratic problem, especially if they're elderly.
