Let's see...a guy drunk out of his mind in a running car. He has three squad cars surrounding him and has been asked repeatedly to get out of the car. He does not get out of the car and the car is in gear. After being stunned, he tries to drive away and hits a fence.

Cop or not, would you not be fearing for your life.

This guy was an idiot. When we get reports of drunk drivers killing another driver, we get the "we're not doing enough to stop them". Now, when we get a drunk driver that is endangering many people and that is killed due to his own actions, we get the "it's a tragedy"?

His life ended due to his own actions. Thank God he didn't take someone with him.

Of course it was just police thuggery. You have to ignore the whole set of facts surrounding the event that led up to the shooting to draw that conclusion, but the liberal cop-haters on this board will find a way...

It has been said over and over and over...do what the police say, and no one ever gets shot. If you want to sue them later for making you feel bad, go for it. But in the heat of the moment, the only correct answer when a cop tells you to jumps is 'yes so, how high?'.

"According to initial police accounts, officers responding to reports of a drunken driver found Meservey about to leave and jolted him through the driver's side window with a Taser. The car then jumped ahead and away from the officers a few feet, over a parking curb and into a fence, and the shooting ensued."

Looks like the guy had the car in gear, was incapacitated by the taser, foot comes off brake, car goes into a fence and the cops had target practice with him as the unmoving target. The last I heard, drunk driving isn't a capital offense.

When a women fell trying to get our of his way, it is now a life-or-death situation. Blast away!

If he does any of the below, he is alive today:

1) didn't drive drunk

2) Put the car in park when he was pulled over (after a chase it sounds like)

3) followed the cops orders to get our of the car

But that won't matter...all that matter is that the lawyers know a good go-away settlement when they see it.

Daily Horoscope for December 10

Leo

Be choosy about who you spend time with today. If you're with someone who's habitually miserable or sorry for themselves, you'll soon be dragged down to their level and will struggle to recover again. However, you may feel such sympathy for their plight that you don't see you have any choice but to be with them. If so, do your best to remain positive.
