most of those kids did not know the issue or the reason why they should be out in the street protesting.The students in my school walked out and im pretty sure that student waving the mexican flag was from my school. I am latina but those students have no buisness protesting on something they dont know or understand, it only allows racist and white supremasist to think of us as ignorant.

I am an AMERICAN, I served my county the USA in Saudi in the early 90s I put my 8 years into the USMC as a CHOICE..
but I am also Italian, my Mother came from Sicily when she was 3 years old with her parents.. my grandparents became citizens, it was much easier to do so in the 1930s.. But I am still Italian and still proud of my family history..

this country was founded on immigrants, but in the past 30 years the government has made it more and more difficult to stand up and get your citizenship..
My wife to be is Mexican, her family came here in the 1950s from MEXICO, yeah they became citizens again because back then it was easier that it is today..
While I agree that those in this country illegally are in the wrong, the bottom line is that they are here illegally because our government has failed, yeah that's right FAILED..
people want to be in the USA.. why? because they seek a better life, because this country was founded on that logic, but in the past 35 years the lawyers have taken over and bloated the laws to the point that no one has a chance of "standing in line, paying their dues and becoming an American"
My best friend, a man I have known for over 20 years and that is the Godfather to my daughter is an "illegal" he has work in this country for 28 years, he came here LEGALLY on a work Visa, as did his wife, they bore 2 children here, and after 9/11 their work Visa's were pulled.. He had been here 17 years at that point, was employed by the county and owned his own restaurant, all of which he WORKED for, no one gave him JACK.. he is now one of the millions that is an Illegal, and if he and his wife get deported where does that leave his 14 and 10 year old AMERICAN CITIZEN children...
there is more to the issue of ILLEGAL Immigrants in the USA than the black and white logic you seem to see. There are REAL PEOPLE involved with REAL FAMILIES and CHILDREN and LIVES..
pull your head out of the dirt, this is the year 2008, the focus should not be on kicking out those that are here already, but maybe having more focus on stopping them from coming across illegally.
If our government spent 1% of the money on some fences and guard towers at the borders like many of the Euro countries do, instead of the tens of millions on lobbying crap like cigarette taxes, maybe it could get controlled..
IMO if they are already in this country, let them be because from what I can see, most of the "illegals" contribute more to our country than the fat a$4 lazy "white" Americas that seem to believe that the world owes them a living.
