They don't want the tax payers to know the truth because the people that have been living here for 30+ years will move and the town won't be able to raise the property taxes like they have been doing in the last 3 years to screw them out their money. Now you know why so many homes are in foreclosure in Round Lake. Besides the scumbag Mayor of Chicago made a deal with Round Lake to take the people from the Cabrini Green apartments and gave them all section 8 because Daley wants to kick all the low-income people out of Chicago.

The "Cabrini Green" resident deal was with Round Lake Beach and it was close to 20 years ago.

If you know of a shooting, Dave, write about it here. I heard about one a couple weeks ago but the intersection the person gave for reference doesn't exist.

He's not right. Section 8 is a Fed program having nothing to do with the City of Chicago and/or RL. Any home in any town that meets certain requirements can be used for section 8 housing. In fact larger home with more bedrooms are more desireable. Yes, there could be a section 8 home in Lake Forest or Barrington. There aren't any because the mortgages/taxes are too high to make it financially sensible in relation to the rents received.

Homes in RL are in foreclosure because they were built during the boom at inflated prices by people who could barely afford them, then the economy and home values crapped out.

A municipality can raise property taxes whenever necessary within parameters set by higher authorities. In fact, higher property taxes would more likely scare investors away and make so that section 8 revenues can't provide enough of a return.

Speak for yourself. I don't commit crimes so I don't worry about getting caught and I appreciate it when those that do get put in jail.

If you want others to think of us as equals, the way to do it is not to drag them down and point out their flaws. The way to do it is to play the game by their rules, and a little bit of Latin flavor and beat them at it. That is what America is supposed to be.

Understood. Also understand that never goes away. You cold be earning $250k/year live right with the right job in the right neighborhood with the right clothes and the right and there will always be somebody to hate on you. If I recall correctly, It was a middle aged American Female, who hit her boyfriend, and dragged him down the street, while she was on drugs and intoxicated. I, believe there was another incident, where an American female,while under the influence of some sort, hit and killed a teenager. There is bad in any race, Hispanics, Whites,Blacks,Asians,and Indians. It's not fair, to target one particular race.

What race was that guy in RL who just got caught with a basement full of pot and guns? Oh yeah...he was white, interesting...

I don't live in the best part of Round Lake but I can tell you that I have never had to duck and rum from bullets either. It's not L.A people. Every town has issues.

No I don't have to "Duck and run from bullets", they are taking it a step further by breaking into your house while you are there to commit an even worse crime. Trust me, it almost happened to me!
