In order for a business to grow and to keep operating, it must advertise. Businesses in El Paso must have AFFORDABLE advertising options or choices in order to thrive.

Thriving businesses mean more better paying jobs in El Paso.

This City Council only caters to those who could care less about the realities of running a business, such as government supported beauracrats. It is these types who are so concerned about so called "eyesores" that want the billboards to come down.

I'm pro business, but what bothers me is this. I would be mad heck if one of my competitors was outperforming me because they were doing something illegal. With some of my older bids on government contracts, you just kinda held your nose at the opening.

How are we supposed to hold everyone accountable, make sure we have a fair marketplace when we sit here and proclaim that Clear Channel should "win"? Win at what cost--breaking the law all in the name of being business friendly?

How do we say that's ok now and tell the next guy he's not allowed to break the law just to make more money.

This is lilly's claim to fame, best she could do. Right in the middle of a recession and massive city debt.

Anyone needs to be recalled, she does. Look at her track record, NOTHING of any substance.

She and beto read Don Quixote, once too many times.

Thank You!! I'm so sick and tired of 'all' commercials, including signs/posters/billboards that I could pull my hair out and throw-up!! If I wanted what ever they have to sell, I'd already bought it. It's got to where a person can't watch anything on television without 8 to 10 commercials every ten minutes, and can't drive down the Highway without the clutter of billboards/signs. And Time Warner Cable is one of the worst. Why buy a Big Screen television if they have every corner of it covered with something and we can 'not' watch a 30 minute show without fifteen minutes of commercials. I was hoping the recession would 'stop' the commercials, signs, and bill boards, but I guess I'll have to wait a little longer????

Thanks for the suggestion/recommendation, but There's not a Doctor anywhere that can put an end to 'all' the advertising. As a matter of fact the information they get, they sell the general information to Companies that start mail outs, or start phone telemarketers calling(which both are an-invasion-of-privacy). And as I said; "If I wanted their product I would have already bought it", but I very much dis-like them shoving it down my throat every time I watch television or drive down the highway! Thanks again.

Thanks Scene.!! I've thought about getting every kind of bumper sticker, stick on advitiser, etc, covering up my big screen t.v.(completely), and taking a picture of it and mailing it to the FCC, just to prove a point!! Thanks again!!

I hope Lilley is awake during the hearings, since this is best she can do during a city budget shortfall. Oh yeah, forgot Byrd lean over and nudge her when it's time.
