WOW, Finally someone expresses the same concerns I have. Gas in Ruidoso use to be the same as San Antonio, Texas and right now gas in San Antonio is down below $3.50 a gallon. But it doesn't stop there. Why are food prices three time more and their choices has dropped to one or two when it use to be several.
WalMart is pathedic with their empty shelves and limited choices.
The most inportant, why are homeowners being charges for water and sewer when they aren't hooked up. Does Gov. Richardson know the villiage is ripping off homeowners to cover up poor money management with high pay checks and seems like every city employee has their own vehicle.
Someone needs to wake up and shake up the city management and get a City Manager that is qualified to manage money resources and people.
Thanks

Hey, the issue here is gas cost in Ruidoso. Get off the hawaiian prices, who cares. That original comment was just that, a comment for comparrison.

Lets get some responsible managers in village government. Don't throw money at a problem, use good management polities, something that is not there right now.

Gas in Alamogordo is $.40 cheaper than Ruidoso and it's only 47 miles away. Who's the suckers? You got it, people that live in Ruidoso...

A small town I owned property in was doing that. They got sued and had to give everyone the money back.

The real shame is that there is no alternative to private transportation (i.e. cars) in Ruidoso, so you are stuck with what you got at the pump. No busses, no trolleys, nothing. That on top of the fact there is no "core" to the village makes it impossible to avoid giving your money to OPEC, Shell, etc. each and every time you fill up.

Think the current prices are rough? Whatcha gonna do when gas gets to be at the level of what the Europeans have been paying for the last 20 years?

I'm in Tucson visiting. Most stations are in the $3.40 range with a few around $3.36

We're always behind the 8 ball when it comes to fuel economy. Most of those cars over there are small and fuel efficient. I'm on a very long waiting list for a wee little European car with outstanding fuel economy. I would love to buy American but they are offering nothing comparable.I am making plans for gas to never be cheap again.
