They are the same company that did the work (at the same time) to the I-78 Hamburg interchange. That'll probably all start crumbling soon, too!

I always thought asphalt meant rectum trouble.

This is Pennsylvania. Every road around here should be concrete.

Although concrete lasts longer, it is susceptible to deterioration due to de-icing materials/chemicals, and it costs much more upfront. One cannot say cement concrete is better than bituminous concrete as each has its pros and cons.

Perhaps PenDot needs to read this forum. It'll save them millions on some BS "study" to find out what went wrong.

And I have all the "tools" I need - right here!

On another note:

Does anyone know why they have "crosswalks" - complete with wheelchair ramps, and "push-to-cross" buttons at these bypass intersections but no pedestrian paths or sidewalks beyond the intersections?

Look at Mill Creek/Bypass intersection. Is this a stupid waste of money, or is the benevolent Jaindl family planning to develop every square inch of Mill Creek from Cetronia to Hamilton?

That's the problem, you are absolutely right. It was a large contractor, they can bid low, but being large does not make them best. They have done a road down from me 3 times in the last 10 years. My road was done by one of the best comps. in the valley,(not the largest) 10 years ago and there is not one pot hole in it yet. The bidding process really needs an overhaul.
