Georgia bar's T-shirt links Obama, Curious George

I love Mulligans and plan on buying a load of the tee shirts to give to everyone. This is not racist it is the blacks playing the race card again. It is ok ay for them to bash our white president call whites crackers etc and nothing is ever said but let a silly t-shirt go on sale and the all of a sudden we have racial issues. The blacks need to focus on all the crime the commit across atlanta daily instead of something as silly as this. Look at the news all you see are blacks commiting crimes. Besides you see the blacks wear Malcom X tee shirts all the time but let a white person have a curious george shirt on and all you ultra liberals go bullistic! They make me sick! Besides who decides what is racist and what isnt?Mulligans is a great place to go and this changes nothing. It they want to hold KKK rallys then "So What" Get off the owners back you liberals you make us conservitives sick to our stomachs!

I understand what you are trying to say, but you're not comparing apples to apples:

--Malcolm X T-shirts represent the black struggle. While of course anyone can wear a shirt, blacks like myself who have endured the struggle and have made positive effort towards reformation and equality for all blacks know what it REALLY means to wear an X shirt. Malcolm X was for the PROGRESSION of black people...

--The idea of an all white bar staff sponsoring shirts that depict a black man as a damned monkey eating a banana is absolutely racist, and offensive to say the least. That design and slogan has no purpose other than to humiliate blacks. YOU KNOW THAT. These shirts are an attempt to go BACKWARDS, favoring the institutionalism of black folks.

Mulligans may still be a great place to go - FOR WHITES ONLY. If they had any black patrons, there's no way they would have sponsored those shirts - publicly at that.

Personally, I say IGNORE it. That's a psychological crutch, unaccomplished or low-IQ whites often need to cope with the trauma of having a black man do a superior job in a prestigious position they themselves could never hold.

It's been common in Europe too. Until the recent crackdown, for years the fans at soccer games would show up with banana peels or gorilla masks and make monkey noises to antagonize black players.

It's because the players of African descent are so damn good that the other teams' fans are frustrated and/or enraged.

Same with Barack. He threatens the self-esteem of way too many whites because he's breaking the "rules" of our white-supremacist society. So, the monkey stuff is their way of coping.(If you can't beat him, then insult him.)

I'm sure you've watched the CNN news story on this. What's incredibly sad is that the bar staff concocted the frivolous theme of the monkey being "Satisfied Fred", a "Curious George" look-a-like that did not pose racial insults. One of the man went as far as to say his daughter is actually an Obama supporter.
The shirt doesn't really bother me -- I'm not going to protest in front of the store or anything. It does bother me that this place is right around the corner from where I live.

Blacks are constantly complaining about something or trying to sue someone for that new mercedes it really makes me sick , you never see whites, mexicans, asians complaing it is always about how the poor blacks are being picked on. I have black friends outside of the Atlanta area that are normal but the ones in Atlanta are of a different breed and have horrible attitudes and are looking for a free ride or to create ciaos regarding anything and everything,Mulligans I do support what they are doing and I think it is great and I want to move back to Marietta now. Although at least David is more honest than Norman who told the AJC yesterday that he didn't think the shirt was racist, and that he's not one. Well either he is the stupid idiot he claimed not to be in the AJC today. Or he's not even honest enough to say his own feelings, so he's a lier and a coward!
