I for one know they do a great job under trying circumstances, and they deserve to be noticed for the great job they do. Don't be ignorant. No one beats their drum for them so why can't they beat it for themselves? No hand outs needed food wise but I'm sure it would be nice to receive a much deserved raise or maybe cost of living. Assumption is a downfall. Maybe a "good job" "keep up the good work" would have been more efficient rather than your retired, non knowledge having comments. There is always a bigger picture

The dispatchers are the ones who hold Fayette County together. WE ALL need to give them an extra special thanks. In an emergency you do not hesitate to call 911 or the Sheriff's Department. Who do you think answers the phone or that 911 call? A dispatcher. Who is the one that tries to keep you calm when you have called about your kid having a difficult time breathing or a missing child? A dispatcher. Not only do they answer phones, but they also talk to the Police for Fayette County and ALL of the agencies inside Fayette County, along with Fire Departments, and the Paramedics. May I also mention that the Dispatchers probably do not make that much money. So, with that being said, they must have a passion for what they do. When everyone else is at home with their families during the holidays, the dispatchers and all other emergency personel are working. So before you bad mouth any of the workers, maybe you should think twice.

The dispatchers are not medically trained to tell you how to perform any life saving techniques. Those that are hired are hired without a public announcement for anyone to apply for the positions, they give incorrect information on occasion which put lives in danger or they die, they page out wrong departments, they don't repeat addresses clearly and "bitch" when you ask them to repeat it again, etc. I could go on and on and on. The "911 dispatchers" work strictly for the sheriff and no one else. The 911 director doesn't even have a clue as to what goes on within that department. Now he has control over who will get the wing and who won't. Since when is he medically trained to give advice when he doesn't know the situation or when he hasn't seen the condition of the patient. He's a dumbass!!!!

Look, I know first hand that the dispatchers are great at there jobs provide outstanding assistance to the officers on the street and to the public in which they protect. As for the medical calls and there prior knowledge to a medical siduation,there only position is to dispatch out the correct emergency response team nothing more. If called upon they are there. If incorrect information is communicated out, well let's face it, they are only human. They deserve a raise just as the Fayette County Sheriffs Deputies. Fayette comission has no clue. Those are the ones you should be barking at not the Emergency Personnel that come to your rescue. If Dispatch isn't there and if the Deputies and Other Agencies aren't there, Well someone DIES. It sure sounds like they know what they are doing now doesn't it. " YOU DONT KNOW IT ALL".... I am specifically responding to YOU.

"You dont know it all"--- Its obvious that you really "dont know it all!" You made yourself look like a dumbass! For 1) the 911 director is a FEMALE and If you want to know what all SHE knows about the department, Im sure SHE'd love for you to go HER office and address that issue with HER. 2) The dispatchers are hired by the sheriffs office, NOT THE FIRE DEPARTMENTS! They dispatch the FD as a courtesy to the county. They have their hands full by dispatching the entire sheriffs department, along with 7 police departments, 15 Fire departments, and the ambulances... so if they get a little irritated when asked to repeat the address 100 times its because they repeat it 3 times during the page 2 different ways! So before you go talking about things you DONT know, how about you educate yourself! If it werent for the women in that office, there would be no way to get the help you need when you need it.

" YOU DONT KNOW IT ALL".... I am specifically responding to YOU. They did GET a raise -- they are Sheriff's deputies that are dispatchers. The firefighters DID NOT get a raise!!!! The medical first responders who are paged out prior to the ambulance are the FIRST one's on the scene. Police officers that interfere with your care if you are sick or injured maynot be certified beyond basic first aid. Ask yourself if your life is worth those who aren't medically trained saving your life. I know instances where the dispatchers sent personnel to the wrong address, gave incorrect cross streets, etc. and those people died because help couldn't get there. I also know that over 75% of Fayette County remain without proper 911 house numbers posted visibly for all responders to respond to. If your willing to help - help. Otherwise, don't pat those on the back who don't always do their jobs because their MAIN responsibility is to the police/sheriff deputies, regardless of if your house is burning or you lie dying. How many times do you think they turn down the fire ban radio so that messages aren't relayed or how many times it is turned off? Do you honestly think that they, the dispatchers, can hear the firefighters who are trying to relay what they need to put out a structure fire or even try to get a Wing in route????? Your obviously in the dark. The volunteer firefighters who beyond that extra mile are NEVER publically acknowledged by the community. Do you know who they are at your fire station, what they have or what they need??? Probably not.
