I feel the kid cops Pearland have now are treating it more like a game than crime fighting. I feel there is a big difference on living free than doing crimes. For example my daughter drove off the road into the grass and her car got stuck. She called me and I told her to call the AAA number in the glove box. As I was getting off the phone with her a Pearland finest pulls up and tells her she will not call them that she had to use the one he calls. My daughter calls me back and tells me and I talk to the officer. I tell him we can take care of it ourselves and he said no that he was not waiting. So when it was all done it cost me $140 to have her pulled out of the mud. Most cities’ tow fees are $85 if called by an officer. I do not feel his buddy in the towing rotation really deserved to get paid, but with the officer’s attitude towards me wanting to take care of it myself I was afraid he would find something to write her a ticket for. We have given up every right we have to just live free. Now we can't even take care of ourselves. I think anybody that voted for a curfew for kids need to be thrown in jail for taking away my child’s civil rights. I would like to know how many people with kids voted on this. I do not live with her mom but she is regulated from what time she has to leave to go back to her house. So if we are watching a movie past midnight or one, should she not be allowed to go home to her moms? Why should your fear of what some thugs may do determine the hours of my freedom with my daughter. Protect yourself with a shotgun not my civil rights. If you voted for this and have family in the military or had been, just slap them in the face when you see them for fighting for us. What was this country was designed for.

Kids have a curfew because the only reason they would be out past curfew is to cause trouble. They can be out past curfew with a parent. You had to use the officers tow service cause he wrote a report.

So her driving back to her moms house from mine would be up to no good. I don't see that. would I be up to no good after midnight if I was out. Is there something the kids do at night that they can't do during the day. Wow It is hard to believe you feel your allowed to walk out any time of the day but acuse somebody else that they would be up to no good. You must be a profiler. So the officer cost me $140 so he could write a report. I did not need one. I can take care of myself. Even if the kids are up to no good.

I say if your daughter can't drive any better than that she deserves a $140 towing fee ! Maybe she should have got a ticket for not staying within her lane of traffic ......

Well normally I would agree with you but it is not a matter of what she deserves because I have already paid for the service. It is a matter of them deciding for me if I can use it. If you get in an accident should they be able to tell you to write the other driver a check and not use your insurance? It is a matter of being able to make our own choices. If you don't want them ask them for help.

The other people who made comments sound stupid ! 15 years ago i was a teenager and things have not changed that much . we used to hang out past midnight and go to busy bee after the movies but now everyones rights are being taken away . the cop was a real asswhole and should have let you go through triple a since you had it under control . I guess us tax payers have no rights . we pay the cops to serve and protect thats what it says on the plice cars . it should read to iritate and and take away joy .

Personally, I want to know which PPD officer went into the Best Buy and wanted to get an iPod installation into his car for no charge and when he was offered a deal (off BB pricing) he threatened to "find a reason" to bust my nephew.

fred, your a dork! I would like to know what cop did that too. Pearland needs to do something. The kid cops do not run this city. We need to take back control and start making all the real complaints we can. Detective Anderson would love to hear them. If you ever come close to a cop the first thing writr down his name then deal with them.We have more rights than most people know. When you know them you find out they are just people to. Don't let them do anything but write you a ticket or let you go. Fight your tickets. The more that are won it shows the bad judgements of the officers. I am ready to fight them all.

Shaqwaun, if you really feel that way go to city hall and fill out the paper to get all the probable cause statements for the last month arrests. If their is more than 82.62% White, 5.33% African American, 0.42% Native American, 3.65% Asian, 0.04% Pacific Islander, 6.12% from other races, and 1.82% from two or more races 16.22% Hispanic or Latino then bring it out. I think your right. I also know the night officers get overtime in court. They don’t have to win. They just show up after their shift.

Look guys... Not every cop is good just like not every person is good. Not every stop or job will go just right, just like you make mistakes or judgement errors at times. The PPD put their life on the line for you! They follow the rules given to them, if you dont like the rules, then get off your rear and vote. Cops are human, but I will tell them next time your house gets robbed to leave it alone since you can "handle" it..
I have been frustrated before with being stopped and sometimes once I think it could have been handled much better by the officer, but their human, they protect my property, my family, and my business...

"Serve and Protect" means to serve warrants and protect the ideology of lawmakers.
