What is traffic like in Sienna Plantation during rush hour? Does it get really backed up when you are trying to get out of the Scanlan Oaks area in the morning?

We have been here for 2 years and the traffic is fine. They use police where necessary to keep traffic moving and have installed one traffic light with another on the way.

Back in June it wasn't too bad. Now that they installed 4 new lights from the entrance down to where the electronic billboard is, traffic feels worse. It's especially apparent as you near mouth of Sienna Parkway.
The lights are ridiculously long at the entrance as well, you actually have vehicles lined up for up to a quarter mile at times (most notably from the northside bound lanes on Hwy. 6).
I don't know why but this has just become ridiculously apparent in the past couple of months since the lights came online.
Police officers directing traffic, or the lack of the lights for that matter, seemed to work better.

Just wait until they fill all those condo's up in the north part of Sienna & also when Sienna south starts to build more homes.

If you want to buy a house in this area, suggest you take a drive at about 7:00am out of Sienna and onto the tollway - you'll see what I mean.

It's another example of a 'master' plan where homes are built before any of the needed infrastructure (roads, schools) are completed, leaving kids going to OVERCROWDED schools (go look at the number of portables at Scanlan Oaks - it's a 3 year old school!!!) and parents driving in congested traffic...

Oh yeah, one more thing, get used to seeing the forclosures around the area as people who were never supposed to own a home pull up a U-haul and get kicked out of their home, which devalues the rest of the homes in the neighborhood!

If Sienna residence had any clue, they would first put a stop to any NEW development until new schools and roads were built - doubt if anyone has the spine.

I desparately need a south entrance
to FM 521. I live at the back of
Sienna and work in Rosharon ( 9 miles
away as the bird flies ) yet it takes
me a frickin 25 minutes to get to work
and there are 3 speed traps along the
way and no matter how careful I drive
one of them always catches me. I
can walk to work by cutting across the
the old Plantation ranch in about 2 hours. A bicycle trail would really
be nice. The old railroad easement
could easily be converted into a bicycle
trail to Sienna Point. Does Sienna
own that officially yet?

Traffic....this is a joke compared to anyhwere else in Houston. We are in the burbs and you accept a 10 minute drive just to get to the entrance when you buy a house in here. I have heard a police siren once in 2 years. That is right..one time. It is quite and peaceful and the people are friendly. If you like outdoor activities, there are so many available you can't make them all. From adult softball, volleyball, tennis leagues to kids soccer, football and baseball this place has it all. Oh, did I mention the outdoor ampitheatre and yearly sip and stroll. Guys, this is not central Houston with limelight and fanfare, but it is a great place to live and raise the kids.

You people don't have a clue what real traffic is like. Try living in any other suburb and you will find traffic to be much worse. Also, did you ever stop to think that the distance it takes to get out of Sienna and the fact that there is only ONE road in and out may be to your ADVANTAGE ......YES I SAID, " TO YOUR ADVANTAGE"!!!!......Why rob or vandalize in an area where you would most likely get caught with only one way in or out.......plus the time it takes one to get out of here also allows the police to block you when you exit!!!! So just remember, you have that as PEACE OF MIND!!!
