Black and mad

White voters, let's remember that Obama supports slave reparations. We are not responsible for slavery, and yet, Obama plans to use taxpayers' money to satisfy black resentment. Let's be very careful for whom we vote!!!

Did you read somewhere that he plans on doing this, or that he agreeded with it only? To do that would take an Act of Congress, which BTW will not happen.

I never understood all of the "black anger". But I am white, so I would not be expected to since being white automatically makes me rich, and hence everything has always been handed to me on a silver platter without even asking. I never lost a job because I was the wrong color (or gender), I was never the target of violence in school just because I was white.(Please note the sarcasm) Unlike all blacks, I have not gone through life with hound dogs snapping at my rear end that all of us white people release each and every day.

People, who think that criticizing the U.S. is some strange mortal sin in which the person criticizing should leave the country, need to open their minds a bit. Blind patriotism is the stuff dictatorships are made of. The ability to protest, be angry, criticize and fight to change is what makes this country great. The fact that we don't have to match up to the status quo and that we can challenge those in power is a critical part of who we are as a nation. So the Pastor said dumb things, so do many evangelical pastors (Falwell and Dobson, for example). I am white and I am mad at the close-minded mob mentality of so many critics of Obama in the U.S., and I'm not even an Obama supporter!

My god and white folks truly do believe they are the "intelligent" race. Yep, the post to this commentary surely does prove how smart white folks really are. You should all be proud.

Becaue it is completely unacceptable to be white and angry. And when I read things like this - that is what I get (and white is what I am).

You vilify people like Bill Cosby; call him an Uncle Tom and call him a sellout - all because he tells the truth. And you glorify people like Rev. Wright - because he 'tells if like you wish it was'.

And yes, Obama summed it up.'It cannot be washed away." But you know what, it can be "moved beyond". But it has to start in the black community.

By the way - my issue with Barack Obama is not his color. It's the company he keeps. We teach our children this very important lesson when they are going up - and damnit, we should lead by example.

For some insane reason - I believe the people that are in charge of this country should love this country.

And there is nothing I have heard from Barack that says he loves this country. Unless you consider sitting down with the leader of Iran a gesture of that love.

I could, but I won't. If you, in the past, haven't taken the time to read articles on his background and aspirations, I'm not going to dig them up for you. And no, I'm not scared of his color, but I'm scared of his agenda, and any reasonable white person should and many are now. Thank you Rev. Wright!!

If it's "completely unacceptable" to be white and angry, how do Limbaugh, Coulter, Hannity, Savage, O'Reilly, Imus, etc., etc., all make such fine livings being white and angry?

For me, it's not even the company he keeps (well...it is to some degree) it's his lack of experience. Why are'nt people getting that. And if you don't like him, you're racist. I would vote for Colin Powell in a heartbeat. STOP THE INSANITY PEOPLE!!!!!!!!!!

wow what a long way to go. wish the founding fathers had done away with this problem when we had the chance. instead south carolina wanted to keep the fields plowed and hijacked thr vote. slavery continued another 100 years and we americans killed each other during the civil war. look at the post above we still hate and distrust one another. i am an american if you cut me i will bleed.

I think the only time that all races in this country was equal was on 9/11.

Maybe another event like that has to happen for us to realize that we are all Americans.
