As many of you know Long Eddy is a very small town. I am trying to come up with some ideas for it to be improved. Are our children safe?..maybe a daycare of some sort. 20 minutes for gas?..maybe a small convinient store/gas pumps. these are only a few i came up with. I would love to hear anyone elses ideas.

A small service station would be great! They are few & far between in this area. Would be nice to get an older place going again, like Doyle's or the small convenience store that recently closed.

Could'nt help but reminisce when I read the above. Long Eddy has always been a little town. Although, when I was a little girl there, I thought it was the greatest place on earth.(3 grocery stores, Erie railroad where trains actually stopped every day, post offce, hotel, bar, Methodist and Catholic churches, and a great school (just one). Left when I was 9, but came back to spend every summer with my Grandma Rivenburg until I graduated high school. I'm 75 now and would give anything to go back and walk thru town. Hopefully, there would be a friend still left. Thanks.

My family was born in Long Eddy but not I as the youngest. The stories that created our family history were made of happy memories of a simple time and little town along the beautiful Delaware. I still feel I missed out on something wonderful.

Its no problem, i love sharing all the great things Long Eddy has to offer. Yes it may not be much, but thats the way we like it. I think the best part is some of the people, we are all like family and will help one another if in need. For me its easy because pretty much everyone is part of my family...if anyone knows these last names and their family that lived here let me know...Johnson, Rhodes, Miller, Milk...thanks

I live and always have in michigan. Every summer we came to long eddy for our vacation.I loved it there. Havent been there in about 32 years and think of it all the time. We stayed up on neers hill. My grandmother pearl walker was a neer and has a cabin on the mountain that we stayed in. No electric and no running water was the best time I have ever had. I remember one year they had a pinball arcade in a building next to the store.I don't know what long eddy is like now but to me it is the best place to be and I hope to come back this summer and visit again.

Well I finally made it back to Long Eddy for vacation this year. I haven't been there in 34 years. It was nice to stay on Neers hill in my grandmothers old cottage again. Wasn't much open in Long Eddy no more. Did stop in at the Long Eddy Hotel and did enjoy a few meals and conversations with people who knew family members of mine from years ago. It sure could use a gas station or a store. I still just loved it as much as I did when I was a kid. Already planning on coming back next year.
