NuLink has major infrastructure issues. I have been in Newnan for about a year, just long enough to enjoy NuLink trash the network. No visit to your house is going to fix their issues. The have very poor peering agreements and over saturated POPs. Most of us in SummerGrove are screwed because it is either that or very slow DSL from AT&T. I have started www.NewnanInternet.com to log some of my frustrations.

I started with Newnan Utilities in 1999. Their service was fantastic for years. I had a cable cut and they were here in less than 2 hours! Alas, the powers that be decided to sell the TV and Internet service to Nu-Link. Pitiful is the best way that I can describe it. I am getting fed up. I have a 6 mbps internet connection that drops to 2.0-2.5 mbps in the evening. Why? Speed Test after Speed Test shows the same result. In the morning, back up to 5.5-6 mbps. I call the # for tech support and get transferred to "broadband support" wherever they are and get the run around. Am told that nu-link will call me in the A.M. to schedule a service call. No call. I call them, during business hours, guess what; back to "broadband support"! I rant enough to get connected to someone actually in Newnan! Explain my problem, no answers. Asks if I know exactly when the down speed drops. I don't know, sometime after dark! Wants me to try more speed tests tonight and call them when it's slow. I have a way now to get them instead of "broadband support" after hours. I'll let you know what happens.

Well at exactly 4:16 PM today, my download speed dropped significantly. Did 4 speed tests within 15 minutes. Results were : 2.41, 2.25, 1.18, and 2.30 mbps! I'm paying for 6 mbps service. Called Nu-Link and was told that everyone in tech support was on the phone. Took my number and said that they would call back. Still waiting. That big of a drop is unacceptable. More later.

It's Wednesday, and Nu-Link never called back. Yesterday the speed drop occurred at 4:26 PM. Also packet drops continuously. Waiting for a page to load so long that I click stop and start all over again.
I'm in a better position than others; I have ATT U-verse in my neighborhood. They are installing next week. Nu-Link better improve quickly if they want to stay around. |

I agree...this has to be the worst company I have ever dealt with. They must have 1 part time employee, because I have never been able to get anyone when I call with a problem. I always have to leave a message and wait for a call. In other words, the customer needs to be available when THEY have time for him or her...not the other way around! How is that for customer service?!
I need to make a change. What is the best alternative out there for people living near downtown? |

DON'T Use NUlink if your business depends on it! I work from home and still can't send emails for 3 days! First they acted like it was my fault, then they gave me the run around for system updates, and finally they admitted that this affected hundreds of customers! I still don't have resolution and NO ONE ever called me back!

I just moved to Newnan and into NuLink hell.
My Vonage service is extremely bad and that is because Nulink cannot deliver a consistent 90K bps. They have asked me to use the acceleron website to check speed, but that only checks peak speed and as per Nulink everything is fine. The correct site to test is this http://myspeed.visualware.com/servers/atl.htm... In the evenings, I have extremely spotty service and Nulink has finally told me that there is nothing they can do. But everyone take heart. I spoke to Clear and they should be in the Newnan Area in the next couple of weeks. They are already in Fairburn. |
