I can understand this. I mean, this is the very first time hot weather has ever come to this part of the world. Global warming is to blame and not incompetence or lack of planning by the geniuses at the LIRR. Seeing as that LI never used to have summer or hot weather, I can understand why they messed up. Of course, let's not forget that this winter will probably be the first time it ever snows on the island as well...so let's cut these over worked, under paid, normally efficient and punctual parasites some slack. (Newsday, I and other commuters are really ticked off. Please don't pull this posting. You have a habit of taking down the first couple that come up.)

Just becuase it's hot and we didn't prepare doesn't mean that it's our fault! If commuters drove instead of taking the LIRR then they wouldn't be able to blame us! Why do you people pick on us??? Do all of YOU people do the job that you're paid for? HA! As if!!!!

The LIRR is a reactionary organization when it comes to maintaining and servicing their cars and tracks. If it ain't broke don't check it, don't inspect it and certainly, do not, under any circumstances replace it if its past due. Before anything is done, said piece of equipment must fail completely first, then, and only then, will it be fixed.
Yesterday we were treated to LIRR's new Heated Sauna cars. I wish they had told me ahead of time and I would have brought my swimming trunks along, I hear its a great way to lose weight :)

This is funny .. The timestamp on the article is 2:23 PM EDT, July 17, 2008 But states "shortly before 3pm"
Do we not update timestamps here ?? in what universe would 2:23 equate SHORTLY before 3pm ??

As if!!!! hahaha actually it IS your fault that you weren't prepared. don't act like your job is hard-- i know former LIRR employees who always joked that the company motto was "punch ticket, get check." if anything more difficult than checking tickets come up, you guys ALWAYS f*** it up! and the worst part is, youa ll get paid much more than other people who actually DO their jobs!!! you better pray people don't listen to you and start driving in, because then you'll have to get a job at McDonald's-- you won't be qualified for anything else!

It is NOT our fault!!!! If commuters didn't take the trains then my life would be easy!!! Instead, they get on in the morning and expect to be in the city on time! They expect me to maintain the trains and tracks and make sure that people get where they want to go!!! That is not FAIR!!! I should have the right to show up, hang around, not work and still get paid!!! I really wish you people would stop asking for service when you pay money!

Prepared for what ? The excessive heat, lack of rain? I will thay they arent prepared for the ignorant riders that have nothing better to do than complain. Stop riding the LIRR, take your car if its so bad. I especially love it when you make fun of the workers, well guess what nit wit, they will retire and probably earn more from their pensions than you make currently. Stop complaining, you might just live longer, wel then again dont stop this way we wont have to listen to you fools. Dont forget to watch the gap.
