Are you old enough to remember the "Boston Blackie" TV show of the 50's? Best detective show ever....."The North's" and "Hart to Hart" was based on the old show.
Red Skelton was an old friend of my Dad and came to visit us in Indian Village in Detroit long about 1954-57. It was right after Red's son Richard died, of lukemia, I think. I was only about 12 or so but I can still see the "Life" mag. spread about it all.My Dad had met Red in France during their stay in an Army hospital. The 50"s were the best years ever, at least for me. Years later when my dad was in the old Almont Community Hospital I was also privileged to meet Wally Cox, "Mr. Peepers" of the early 50's kid's show right after he finished filming "Splendor In The Grass" with Henry Fonda. Red and Wally were as humble as we were and very nice people.
