This one's for the ladies. Does that first cup of coffee make you drop those kids off at the pool? Does it make you release a brown trout into the pond?

Coffee a natural stimulant. SEE below Coffee is also a powerful stimulant for peristalsis and is sometimes considered to prevent constipation. However, coffee can also cause excessively loose bowel movements. The stimulative effect of coffee consumption on the colon is found in both caffeinated and decaffeinated coffee.[29][30] Contrary to popular belief, caffeine does not act as a diuretic when consumed in moderation (less than five cups a day or 500 to 600 milligrams), and does not lead to dehydration or to a water-electrolyte imbalance; current evidence suggests that caffeinated beverages contribute to the body's daily fluid requirements no differently from pure water

My wife is a doctor. First, there is no such thing as "decaffeinated" coffee. That coffee still has caffeine in it. There is no current technology that can eliminate caffeine from coffee 100%. Second, caffeine is a diuretic...period. Less than 8 ounces will hydrate you somewhat. More than that will make you pee at 1.5 times the rate of consumption. Electrolytes do not need replacing as much as Gatorade and other sport drinks would have you believe. The body replaces them on its own. Heavy athletic activity will require electrolyte replacement but I'm talking about a lot of activity.

I think the technical discussion is interesting. Not sure I agree with everything but I like coffe straight up (no milk, no sugar, no flavoring, just coffee and water). As for poop - don't know. I poop whether a drink coffee or not.

The proper words / phrases are bowel movement, stool, deficant, deficate, excrete,... If you are going to ask / answer a stupid question at least do so intelligently.

Spelling doesn't count as much as the content does. But I can tell you that my wife interviewed a few people where she works that had a Bachelor's and Master's degrees. She said that both had resume's that had horrific misspellings for having such a degree. They were not hired. Grammar and spelling counts but only to the ratio of your education. I once saw a 19 yo kid at a pizza joint get out a calculator to figure out my change. I knew it immediately. Now there I blame his high school. But I would not expect that same kid to be able to figure out the thrust-to-weight ration of the F-111. Nor would I hold it against him.

When I was in my twenties, it didn't matter what I drank, coffee, soda, juice, milk, or water. Within, a half an hour or so, I had to go. But coffee, and a can of coke acted the fastest.

Negative. Coffee does not make you poop any more that if you did not drink it at all. That's the final word. No further comment necessary. Move on everybody.

I like having a good bowel movement. Sometimes my pants fit better after a particularly good movement.
