I'm angry that one of our own has committed such a disgusting and unethical thing. I would like to personally rip his badge off!!! I'm sure that the Sheriff and his deputies are very disappointed and embarrased. All of us try to do the "right thing". It's unfortunate that these incidents occurr and compromise the publics trust.

I'm sorry you feel that way. As far as being "Second Rate",well...you are WRONG! We have some of the BEST police officers in the country and I am VERY PRUOUD to wear the Los Angeles County Deputy Sheriff badge!!! Unfortunatley, circumstances like these tarnish our profession.
I worked the jail system for 5 years. Yes, it is grueling, however it never swayed my attitude towards the people I serve. 99.9% of the people we serve are GREAT law abiding people. It's the .1% that ruin it everyone....including the .1% in law enforcement...
The Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department is an awesome police agency with a wealth of resources. I invite you to take a ride-along and witness some of the best cops at work.

I'm sorry you had that experience with another Deputy. I also had a negative encounter with another local police agency in the south bay. I, like your wife, also recieved a speeding ticket by that agency after hurrying home due my wifes water breaking (she was of course pregnant).

After being stopped, I politely advised the officer that I had to hurry home. Upon discovering my occupation, He replied, " You should know better!" and gave me a ticket. I was so angry....but what can I do...I broke the law... As for me and many others, I would never give a ticket under those circumstances and you're right,,,a little common sense does go a long way....
