No matter what reasons Anthony Misetich gives, his membership on one of Bob Bisno's Ponte Vista Advisory Boards needs to be mentioned.

Perhaps it was because Mr. Misetich wanted to see Senior condos built at Ponte Vista.

But for all the contention Bob Bisno brought to OUR community, I find it difficult to understand why any Eastview or eastern R.P.V. resident would vote for Mr. Misetich over another conservative like Brian Campbell.

When Mr. Misetich met, even as long as more than three years ago, with the board his name is still connected with, it may have demonstrated his probable lack of care for the residents of Eastview, Miraleste, and other R.P.V. residents who use Western Avenue on a daily basis and use the shopping areas in northwest San Pedro and R.P.V.

Of course Mr. Misetich is a member of an honored and beloved port family, but that does not mean we need to ignore his association with Bob Bisno and Bob's thoughts that he knew better than us what should be in OUR community.

Mr. Misetich is a fine fellow and his comments about volunteer participation are wonderful in our city. I just wish he had volunteered to fight along with thousands of us to keep the greedy over developer from trying to ruin part of OUR community.

Jeff Lewis, Paul Tetreault, Craig Mueller, Jim Knight, and Brian Campbell have all weighed in on the issue that Ponte Vista must not be over developed by anyone.

If conservative voters wish to vote for a qualified conservative to sit on the Council, may I suggest Brian Campbell.

I, along with four current R.P.V. Council members and a whole host of others endorse and support Jeff Lewis and Paul Tetreault for the two seats up for grabs on November 3.

The MOST IMPORTANT thing however, is for Eastview voters to just plain VOTE.

An 11% showing in the last city election was dismal and if we don't vote in higher percentages, it will be no wonder why we can be ignored.

I was wondering if that is a hair piece Anthony Misetich is wearing in this picture? Can anyone figure it out. I am going to vote for him anyway, but at least we should know if our candidates are wearing a hair piece when they take photo ops.

only John McTaggart has the integrity factor. The others are pawns of special interests.

If it's not too late, I am going to join this race as a high-powered real estate agent with three goals that will blow this race out of the water. Allow me to build anything I want on the hill, sell anything higher than any other agent and sub-divide Palos Verdes Estates into three sections...attorneys, young women who married old guys and people who made their fortunes prior to 1985. However, if you are not with me, please elect John McTaggart. Thank you. Have a nice day.

Which canidate is for the "McMansions"?

Why does'nt the Eastview area of RPV taxes go to PV schools; instead of LAUSD.

What difference does it make? A person's hairstyle certainly doesn't influence their ability to be a good leader so you should be a little more respectful and keep your shallow and superficial comments to yourself.

The Los Angeles County Republican Party and the California Republican Assembly ask RPV Republicans to vote for Anthony Misetich.

Do you really want four liberal lawyers on your city council??

Well, since nobody has answered your question yet, my recollection is there was a lawsuit or some legal decision that if the area were to break away from the LAUSD because of the incorporation of RPV it would cause a loss of student racial or economic diversity and therefore the change had some issue of discrimination attached to it. The quid pro quo in the resolution was that the tax base and schools would remain with the LAUSD, but the students have the option of attending either district. Pretty nutty, if my history is correct.

Believe it or not, all 7 candidates are qualified and capable to serve on the RPV City Council. All have spent years volunteering in various capacities throughout the city. There are no conspiracies, no real special interests; just 7 regular people that want to try and make a positive difference. By the way, this has probably been the cleanest political race in the City's history, and, I'm proud to have been part of it; win or lose.

Brian,

I would have agreed with you until I saw the partisan mailer pronouncing you as having the support of "Democrat" leaders and urging us to "exorcize" our right to vote. That and the phone call about Halloween did make me laugh I admit. And actually I still do agree with you by and large but if you insist on running a partisan campaign, don't you think you shoulr figure out which party you are a member of?

At least all the candidates have been positive in their comments unlike Tom who has become so negative. Does he even remember why he was voted onto the RPV Council? His attitude and comments tell me no, he's there to serve himself not the RPV residents.

Billy, shouldn't the candidates be truthful with you? If they insist on telling you their party (in a non-partisan race) shouldn't they be accurate about it? The mailer Campbell appeared in and paid for was sent to registed Democrats and encourages us to support legalizing marijuana. Is Brian in favor of that? Isn't it reasonable to ask what these mailers mean? Sorry if it is "negative" but sometimes the truth hurts a bit. I think I serve the residents by helping them get this information more than I would if I pretended it did not exist.

I got it Tom and I'm not a registered Democrat. I vote anyway I feel is necessary. I'm actually for Legalized Marijauna Tom. It's a tool for Cancer patients for nausea and pain. Marijuana has nothing to do with the way I feel about our local issues and how you could careless about the residents in Portuguese Bend. Through everyone under the bus if they don't agree with you!!

Legalized marijuana and "medicinal" marijuana is nothing more than a way for the local teenagers and young adults to get their fix and pretend its legal. Stop making it seem so noble. Sure it's used for actual medical reasons, but rarely is it prescribed for what it should be used for. 20 somethings who can't sleep and don't eat alot really don't need weed to get through their day! The future looks grim with nothing but potheads on the horizon.

No Billy I don't think you do get it. The point is that Mr. Misetich tells democrats he is one of them (two widely distributed mailers like this including one arriving this morning with a picture of Obama and calling Misetich part of the "democratic team" while at the same time he tells republicans he is one of them. Maybe he supports legalized marijuana like you do and maybe not. Who knows? He will tell you whatever you want to hear. And Misetich did this after signing a pledge to run an "honest" campaign. I think RPV can do better and I am sure if you relect on it a bit you will agree with me.

This, coming from Tom "Mr. Honesty" Long, who is currently under investigation by the FPPC for his last campaign shenanigans. Those who live in glass houses should not throw stones, don't you agree Tom? And I notice you make fun of people (which is what little minded people do)for spelling. Could you please define (from your last post)the word "relect", and use it in a sentence?

Shane, the FPPC investigation you reference is for my acceptance of a free webpage. The majority of candidates in RPV have done the same thing. There was no value to report because free webpages are available everywhere. Indeed the candidates in this race are using free webpages provided by the League of Women Voters. Mine is provided by PV on the Net (a non-profit) and I still use it. Many candidates have PV on the Net and League of Women voters webpages. The FPPC has never even contacted me so the investigation must be a pretty moribund one. As you may know it was instigated by a homeowner, Tina Maron, who was unhappy when the city would not intervene and take action against her neighbor. She sued her neighbor and lost and blamed me when, as mayor, I protected the staff from harassment by another councilmember who was trying to curry favor with Ms. Maron.

Sorry about the misspelling but I am sure you got my meaning.

Daily Horoscope for December 24

Gemini

It's a busy day and you've got quite enough to do without having to cope with people clamoring for your attention and likely to go into a huff if they don't get it. Is this person feeling neglected because you're busily occupied elsewhere or are there other reasons for their demanding mood? Simply giving them a big hug could make all the difference to their behavior.
