George Freeth statue stolen from Redondo Beach pier

Check the scrapyards. Quite a lot of bronze sculptures and bronze outdoor objects have gone missing lately.

How awful. I hope this person is prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law. The person who stole this is a disgrace.

C'mon...what a joke. Return the statue.
Good God...can't we just leave things alone?!?!? |
This is just low though. How low will they go? And I'd be saying this if the statue was of a white guy, black guy, latino guy, asian guy or any other guy. But no, it's just some ordinary green guy. I sure hope the statue of Jimmy Doolittle is secure anyway. It really makes you think.

The law should be changed to a felony to steal a statue and the sentence should be 15 years in prison. Bunch of scummy homeless people.
It is a felony if it's valued over $400 |
That really is horrible.
You know, they never found the Colossus either. |

They need more outdoor cameras.

Did this reporter not have spell check on their computer? They didn't even spell California correctly.

I wonder if it was stolen for the metal? There has indeed been a rash of metal thefts. Hopefully the person who purchases it turns it in as it is irreplaceable. the sculpter now being gone and all. I can remember that bust there from when I was just a kiddo going to buy pearls in the oyster at the pier

Yep I missed that one though. |

Here today, gone to Maui. Copper thieves cop a plea!
Please feel free to fill-in your missing thoughts though. |
that's f-ed up. Probably the same ppl stealing catalytic converters.
The thieves probably thought it was copper from the look of the green patina. The joke's on them.
Dude --stay in texas --though! That's for you Fred though. |
Nobody seems to have mentioned that this statue sits in close proximity to the police station on the pier. How could the theft have occurred so close to the police station without being noticed?
well thats because that fresh batch of donuts were being much enjoyed! |
