Yegods, anyone but those two idiots. Suja should change her name back to whatever it was before. She is no Lowenthal. Schipske and Suja are so liberal they would both vote to close the coastline for environmental reasons. Just what this state needs. More liberal politicians calling the shots.

I hope the neither of these two make it. He's corrupt (and a jerk) and she is certifiable (and hyper liberal). Schipske sued her own employer when they tried to terminate her for incompetence and misconduct. I would hate to give them a state-wide platform from which to embarrass this city.

Too funny, given all of the outstanding issues within the City, which the council can't resolve, any added responsibilities will delay the City ever getting anything completed. These two can't handle what is on their plates now. Next...

What a mistake! Now no one can say that a conservative (Knabe) won't nominate a liberal idiot for an important state office.

I would have preferred someone more liberal than those selected from Long Beach. Lowenthal's considered a moderate by Coastal Commission standards and Schipske's all over the map. As for the other nominations, don't get me started.

Richard Montgomery? You've got to be kidding! The Coastal Commission needs someone who can think and who at least has a college degree!

Don Knabe needs a head check. Schipske & Lowenthal? Please, please don't approve his nominee selections.

Corrupt politicians invent and control these "commissions". How many other thieves are "on the take" after being appointed to "serve" on them?

This is unbelievable...two morons on another commission. It just proves that incompetence will rise to the top.

ThankGod...then the citizens of the 2nd District can FINALLY replace Suja with a reasonable, rational, pro citizen, pro law and order, representative.

PLEASE appoint her to any unskilled, over paid political joke of a tax slave funded farce.

Just get her off the Council. Our neighborhoods is becoming a SLUM under Suja.

i would definitely choose the candidate who cheated on her spouse and smells like curry.

why anyone would want to remove the lowenthal moniker is beyond me. it is a huge red flag that lets you know she was once deep in the socialist elite clan bent on destroying a once great city.

I have a friend who is in the most disgraceful situation possible. Lives in the East Village so has not one, not two, but three Lowenthals with a Richardson kicker.

Historical psychologists are certain to define Long Beach as an open air Lunatic Asylum based on the people we freely elect.

Boy, are Long Beach voters a bunch of losers!

YIKES.

Daily Horoscope for December 29

Libra

An emotional situation is as clear as mud today. You aren't sure about your feelings for a certain someone, nor are you convinced that you know what they're playing at. They may be saying one thing and doing another, and you might even suspect that they're playing games with you or trying to get what they can out of the relationship. Or maybe you're imagining the whole thing? Admit it - at this stage you simply don't know.
