Make the punks and their parents clean up their mess. With a tooth brush. And then, throw all of their butts in jail.

Now let's hope a little less graffiti around the neighborhood. Graffiti is terrible...but if you're even willing to tag a church and patrol car. Seems as though a nice stiff punishment that would really work for such vandals would be to lose a finger each time caught. Even though I'd much prefer the boy work at Wal-Mart and/or In-N-Out over the graffiti thing. The parents need to reinforce the importance of school attendance and monitor his activities much better. I'm sick of seeing graffiti, and if you're going to tag, tag your own property.

Make the punishment fit the crime. Strip them of all of their clothes and spray paint their entire bodies in the same colors as they used around the neighborhood. Then parade them around town with a sign saying "I like tagging up your neighborhood".

It's all a game for these young losers. They have no other goals other than to not get caught. Will they be sorry? Yes, of course, but only because they got caught. Education and keeping busy under tight home rules are necessary. These parents need to a clue. When you see spray cans, marijuana, not attending school etc, something is up and it's not good. All, including the parents need to be punished. These are all future, if not already, gangster. We must control this element of society. It is near the bottom of the lowlife chain.

Don't a lot of these parents buy their children spray paint? Check their finances and interogate them.

Parents are the problem. Yes, they hold responsible for the actions of their siblings as they grow. Even for those who are non speaking english people. I know alot of other Parents have good relationships with their children and the majority does not because lack of communication and quality time. The answer starts at home before it comes out.

What I find incredible is they actually complained that they wanted the graffiti to stay. Kudos to the police. Now if only the Torrance PD can stop all the tagging going on in Torrance. I think they have given up in the areas within a few blocks of Western.

Roberta Johnson ;

I live in Carson, go to Carson High and is familiar with the taggings around the are area. For you to give such a harsh opinion about the situation only makes yourself sink to their level. Just by looking at where you live sums up why you gave your opinion, not everyone has a perfect life.

I beleive rather than make them sit in jail and make them do nothing, sit them in class and give them a second chance. Punish them, but hepl them turn their life around.

They have given up on the few blocks EAST of Western because that is Los Angeles. The graffiti in Torrance is minimal and gets removed fast once reported to their graffiti removal hotline.

Looks like DGK (Dont Get Kaught) went and got caught. They have been very active around main st the last few months. Whats this pucks tagging name? is he late? I know where their house is and it isnt worth 5 bucks, your typical looking shack that belongs south of San Diego.

What city do you live in Marc. I am sure it is not Torrance since you don't even know the borders of the city. My job requires me to drive all around Torrance and the tagging is very few and far between. Also, why is it that everyone that does not agree with you is a racist? By definition that makes you a racist.

First of all this boy who was busted is 16 and old enough to know right from wrong. The money that pays to clean up this mess comes from taxpayer's. I just moved from Carson and was sick and tired of seeing this mess all over the walls, trees etc. His parents and all parents of any children who are busted for vandalism should have to pay for the damages; if they can't afford to pay they should be put out on the street with their kid to paint over it themselves. This kid will probably get a slap on the hand when him and his parents really need a foot up their butt. By the way since people like to make a racial issue of everything…. I knew plenty of tagger’s of all colors growing up, yes even white ones but, I knew right from wrong regardless of what my friends did. We did some stupid things like most kids do but vandalizing peoples property or a church was not on my list. I grew up and have kids of my own now and they are being raised to know right from wrong and how to respect others, something a lot of parents do not bother with these days. I may have given my parents some problems but now I realize the value of what they were teaching me even though at the time I did not want to hear it.

Does anyone remember the 14 year old American who got caught tagging in Singapore about 15 years ago? His punishment was to be lashed on his bare back. His parents were shocked and appealed to the US embassy. Singapore didn't blink. The youngster received the lesson. The kids' name was Fay. We can assume he was white. I wonder if he will tag again if he ever is in Singapore?!?

How fast do you consider fast. There is a particular corner WEST of Western where the graffitti has sat for 2 months dispite calls from neighbors to remove it.

I live in Torrance and just so you can be sure I know my geography, my kids go to Torrance schools. Maybe the reason you don't see graffitti while you drive around is because you didn't realize that immediately west of Western is still Torrance. By the way, my name is not Marc, my initials are MRC. As for racist, can you tell me one single post I have ever made that is racist? I think you are getting me confused with someone else.

At least the tired old liberal tag fits. The same old liberal (or would you prefer progressive?) chant of calling anyone and everyone a racist simply because they question, comment or otherwise have an opposite opinion than you is the real tiresome cliche. I'm sorry to disappoint but I rarely listen to Rush, even though I would choose him before Franken or any other Soros backed talking head. I watch CNN and Fox News and after all these years I do think for my self and I think you're an arrogant, misguided fool.
It's clear that you aren't really "up to speed" on things, Ol' Gary. Franken hasn't done radio in over a year, in case you didn't know, and your mention of "Soros" shows that you repeat Limbaugh/FOX News talking points, like they do. Do you even know anything about George Soros, other than YOU as a right-winger aren't supposed to LIKE him?
