What would you consider a easy department at Walmart Distribution?

If you get hired as an order filler it's hard work. You through cases all day. Last I knew I believe caselot "order fillers" rate is around 460 cases a hour that you have to label and throw. You won't be using power equipment, just go from pallet to pallet along the conveyor throwing boxes. Good news is after 6 months you can transfer to an easier department if a position is available. But for the first 6 months expect hard hard work. The pay is good and the benefits are ok.

just started as an order filler. the pay is great not many jobs pay you that much with no training or education but it's very demanding. the pace is grueling but i was out of work for a year so i needed a job. no benefits you have to pay for them and the discount is only 10% better than nothing

driving equipment around the warehouse, asset protection, there's even a job where you just stand at the conveyor and make sure the boxes have labels

.....I have worked for Wal-mart for 5 year I was working in the stores then the opportunity came for me to work at the D.C. I took the chance working at walmart D.C in Monroe,Ga The worst decision I have ever made. First let me state that I was one of Walmart best workers. I lived 40 miles away so I had to drive along way. I was working as an unloader. The job wasn't hard ,but the problem was that it simply wasn't enough work. They paid me great I started out making 17.00$ and hour then I once I was fird for production I was making 19.85. I was not a bad worker it was just not enough work and since I was new I was not the fastest working. Walmart is not a good place to work. The way they have their system set up is not good. I was going to school and was force to drop out. I am receiving unemployment because I been with them for so long. If I can do it over again I would not. IF you live close by I may consider it,but with the driving back and forth it's better you find a job that pays you 10.00$ an hour and get 40 hours a week then get paid 17.00$ and get 25 hours a week. Thanks alot Wal-Mart

Just got a call the other day from the DC in my area. I go in next week to take a PAT test for the Meat/Produce order filler. Can anyone tell me what to expect during the test? And if you have any information regarding the hiring process let me know.

Walmart DC is a good place to work, pay is good, benefits are ok. The work is demanding but most people will be ok. You get a good amount of time to work in your area before your out on actual production until then though you are on a curve. It is very hard to get on if your applying from the outside sometimes. A lot of people transfer from the stores. I've been there 8 yrs now, personally I do not like it much anymore but that's just me but its still a job and im very lucky to have it, many would give an arm and a leg for a job. Just be ready to work hard and get your rest, it has its politics which can be a buzzkill but what job doesn't have that. In the end it comes down to the person and how there attitude is. It can be a very beneficial company for an individual and if you want to go to school I found that walmart is very easy to work your schedule around if your just a normal associate. Either way for me personally I'd give walmart 4 outta 10 stars, its different for everyone but hey it pays the bills...goodluck

I worked at a Walmart dc,for 13 yrs, everyday was hell.they treat you like crap, they cut your hours, sometimes you work over time, but its all regulated,if you are about to receive your incentive then your hrs get cut to avoid paying you too much,in other words you will always be cheated in some way,I can go on and on about this, also they emphasize on the importance of following the rules, but when it comes down to it,rules get broken with no disciplinary actions.working there was the worst mistake I ever made, even as a manager I decided to leave because you see and hear a lot of injustice..maybe its not the same on every dc,but as for the dc where I once did up to this day,its still the same sh......hole.so good luck to anyone seeking a job at any walmart dc,do your research first.(((f,w,d,c,zez tulve)))......

I actually start in two weeks. I am waiting on my background check to come in but I've read all of the comments and I want someone to relly let me know what to prepare myself for going in as a Reach Truck operator in the warehouse in Conley, GA. What I mean by prepare for is... what to prepare for in pay, hours, and working conditions. They won't tell me anything until my Background Check comes back. And also for the people trying to get on, I applied on-line at walmart.com before and didnt get the position but this time i went through some type of agency named Excel Direct. So ye any comments on what to prepare for in that position.

A lot of it depends on what type of DC u applied at. i work for a grocery DC. Orderfilling is hard work but the pay is good and u work either three or four day weeks. Once u r able to transfer out of orderfilling the work is very easy

I'll rather take the $17 dollar for the 25 hours cuz it's more money and u have more free time in the day to do what u want or maybe find another part time job.

I worked at the walmart DC for 4.5 years in Grantsville, UT. I was also a T3 trainer. I havent seen anyone's input who worked in Shipping so I will give mine. So I worked in Shipping. What I have to say about it, is that it is incredible amount of work, and being in those trailers constantly for ten hours during the summer was hell. The cow manuer fertilizer would cook in there and it smelt horrible. You usually run 3 trailers at a time, going back and forth. I started out at 12.90 then made 17.65 when I quit. Bring gloves to stop cuts on your hands from handling 5000 boxes a day you load( sometimes over 6000 or more) and a thermas to keep hydrated. As others have said, the do tend to cut hours around incentive check time. But if you work hard and constant, It was not so bad. Just dont get your hopes up in being reconized for hard work. It usually goes to the "floaters" the assholes who drive the PEs. I swear it felt like highschool dealing with the immature drama of the floaters. The ego they had just because they were driving a PE.. Also major favortism especially when a manager would transfer into your area, bringing his pet palls with him. So again, if you try not to let this crap bother you it was alright. Made some great friends there too. We would have water fights on the dock in the summer. Just sneaking around dumping water on each other. Good times. Lol ( wouldnt recommend you might get fired) And if your lucky, your boss will let you work with your neighboor.

Order filler sucks. They are set up for failure. The production is impossible to make. I've seen people who have worked for Walmart for 5 plus years get fired because of the raise in production. It is an unobtainable goal designed to force associates to get to a step 2 before their 6 months are up so they can not transfer right out of the position. Only 2 percent of orderfiller new hires make it to to one year with Walmart. I would advise waiting for an rsr position or shipping or receiving... Anything but offline order filler!

My husband was unfairly terminated. A position opened up and his boss tried to get his buddy in the position before my husband, and my husband had more seniority. My husband called him on it to upper mangement. Later my husband had a minor slip up, and his boss fired him over it. My husband was on break watching tv "on company" property. The ass hole fired him over it. It was total horsecrap. The guy is glad I don't know what he looks like or I will cuss him up one pole and down another. I still don't like going to their chinesse loving store. Since we are in a small area sometimes it is the only place to find certain things.
