> Mitt Romney reported a 2010 income of $21.6 million. He was taxed $3 million, or a rate of 13.9%.

Did you see the news about his just released 2011 return? Originally he would have paid 9% total, including social security, but that looked bad since everybody else in the country pays more (even if you don't pay federal income tax at all 15% of your salary is paid for social security), so he ordered his accountant to NOT deduct over half of the millions he charitably donated to his church. This raised his tax liability to 14.0%. His goal in this was to pay more in 2011 percentage wise than in 2010 because otherwise it would look bad.

Romney paid 3 million so what we need is a lot more taxpayers like him.
You democrats think the government owns all wealth and should decide who gets what. It's called communism and it has been tried and failed but history always repeats itself. Study the USSR and
you'll find our future.

If Obama taxed all of the wealthy people in the U.S. 100%, it would only finance his spending for 4 months. That's right only 4 months. Wake up people! The rich are not the problem!

Rich people have wagered, in their elites-only casinos, a value of 7 times the GDP of the world. That figure comes from the Bank of International Settlements (the central bank of all central banks on the globe)

http://www.bis.org/statistics/otcder/dt1920a....

When only a fraction of that gambling scheme collapsed, triggering the financial crisis of 2008, "Obama's spending" stopped the slide off the cliff.

Sorry, but rich people ARE the problem.

You need to get your facts from someone other than dead Brietbart.

The problem is lazy Muslims like you that want our government to
give more to you while your dying of obesity. Poor people's biggest health problem is fat. Poor but fat. Poor but carrying a cellphone. Poor but driving an automobile. Poor but living in a dwelling with hot and cold running water and TV and air conditioning. In this country "poor" people don't have a clue what true poverty is but if this Muslim raised President gets reelected they will learn.

If all y'all really wanted to help the poor to pull themselves up by their bootstraps, you would recognize the real and social disparities in pay and status in regards to jobs and work, and you would dignify manual labor in name and with real wages to compensate folks for the use of their bodies to make you rich.

But you don't, so you won't. One of these days, y'all will drive wages down so far, market prices will be unbearably high, jobs will be scarce, people will watch their children starve and then it will be game over for your twisted little system of rewarding those who do the least work, the most, and those who do the most work, the least.

And y'all, its not about envy for most of us who do real work. I'm not an idiot. I could be a dang MD, JD or Phd, I could even be a paper pushing desk jockey. But I don't need hundreds of thousands or millions or billions to feel safe, secure and superior. I have a great job, that I really love. I do important work for our nation and our ecosystems. I am not envious of you, the Koch's or Mittens (or even Obummer). I don't need or want a mansion. Or a Hummer. But I would like my dang wages to rise with inflation and I would like the opportunity to buy food and beer and occasional vacation trip to someplace different and exotic. I would also like the opportunity to improve my home without having to run to a scamming bankster for a loan. Real wages for real work would address these for me and most working people here in America and across the world. But can we get a decent social contract from the Masters of the Economy and their sycophant supporters out in Country Club land? No, because most of y'all are selfish, greedy and arrogant enough to think that by virtue of your ability to scam others out of money, you are superior to the rest of us.

Most of y'all are really just simple minded hypocrites. You think its ok for some jock, Hollywood bimbo or fake haired real estate tycoon to get paid ridiculously stupid sums of money for entertaining you, but the people who fix your car, your roof, your lawn, the people who serve you at McGarbage or Mal-Wart, the people who make your cars, your boats, your clothes, who pick your food, who package your food, who watch your kids and clean your houses, those of us doing the real work that runs this joint, don't deserve decent wages, benefits or pensions. What a giant F U to your fellow Americans. You can be secure and have season tickets to the home games, but those losers who fix your car or mow your lawn just don't work hard enough. What a crock.

And y'all claim to love America. You don't love anything 'cept your offshore bank accounts and the feeling of superiority you get watching others around you flounder in this casino ponzi scheme of an economy.

Use that tax credit to sue your teachers. They obviously failed in your education. No wonder you are in the 47%.

So if a person is not considered to be in the 47%, this makes you better than them? Wow, you just made a great example of how the "other 53%" think! So what do you have to say about the fact that Mitt's dad was an illegal refugee, who received government handouts for years? What do you think about him talking about his OWN FATHER like he is trash? Then, you trust him? Do you think he is going to be on your side and make things better for you when he throws his family under the bus?

I don't even understand why he is running for president when he could scam alot more people the same way he has been for years, and his poor Latino father (who has crawled out of the hole now, BTW) can keep on being in the 47% that Mitt Romney doesn't care about, because they are "unconvincable".

What a crock!! This man thinks he is great because he has more money than you, but as the saying goes, "You can't buy happiness." He can continue to make 20 million a year +, but that doesn't mean that his family members won't be poor, gambling, drug addicts. That does not mean that he won't be assasinated.

What have you been drinking? Mitt Romney's father was not an illegal immigrant, nor was he poor. Try Goggling George W. Romney.

George W. Romney was in fact born in Mexico as a Mexican child to two Mexican parents. They entered the US and applied for refugee status. He grew up supported by welfare grants from the US government that helped his family get by while they learned to speak english. This is well known and not controversial.

It seems that every body thinks they deserve something from government. Unfortunately any benefits received from our government will be paid by people not yet born if our government continues.
Our founding feared a democratic government and wrote a constitution that created a republic and prevented democracy.Over the decades we have transformed into a almost pure democracy which will
surely fail as it becomes more socialistic-communistic. The founding fathers thought of majority rule as one of the worst forms of government
because of the redistribution of wealth that in the long run would destroy all wealth( study the Soviet Union).

There is a self imposed blindness that can not be explained that lays heavily on this country. Stop the craziness and look at the facts. Our world is in trouble. People around the world hate us and have the weapons to destroy us. If you trust the current administration to deal with these serious issues, you are blind as a bat. He is completely disconnected to this and has even lied about it this week. He is not and was not concerned that our embassy was attacked and did nothing to prevent it. He did not have time to sit down with Israel's leader to discuss potentially life changing situations concerning every American, but found time to go to Las Vegas and to show off on The View. He has no substance. He is just a suit doing his own thing and loving the power. If you think for even a second that this person has your best interest in mind, you are only fooling yourself.

Curious how Tea Party members constantly rewrite history and transpose their fascist political views onto the founding fathers.

One of the original founding fathers John Adams, who as President in 1798, signed the Act For The Relief of Sick and Disabled Seamen. Thomas Jefferson, another original founding father, also supported this act. Some would call it the precursor to Medicare. You would call it Socialized Medicine or Mandated Health Care but sometimes in the name of human and civil rights, government must step in where private enterprise would prefer to let their loyal aging and disabled workers die in poverty.

Its pretty simple. If the worker were paid a living wage with benifits, there would be no welfare. If work paid a living wage better than living off the welfare, who would choose welfare? The problem is that work pays less than welfare now. You can live a much better life with time for family and friends if you choose welfare. If you choose work, you lose healthcare, benifits, homes, cars and food everytime you get laid off. The sad fact is that working for pennies while a few greed driven few get rich, just leaves you a poor fool in the end. There would be no need for goverment intrusion in the work place if there were moral , ethical, and decent treatment of employee's by the employers. Instead they are just treated as cattle to be used and thrown away when used up. You won't fix government, until you fix the people first.

The reason they don't work is they are LAZY.Pure and simple. There was a time in the not so distant past if you wouldn't work and support your family you were known as TRASH and people would tell you to your face you were trash. Now they brag about the "check I'm drawing".The cure is simple:No work,no food.It would be amazing how a little hunger would cure bulging discs, restless leg, fibromyalgia, bipolar, ptsd, etc.
