I think the county needs change, all the way around...from the mayor, thru the comissioners, on to the sheriff. Mind you, the deputies have done a great job, and that's the only thing that makes the sheriff look good.

Vaughan you are right. As long as who it id does their job. This whole county had alot of changes in the last little bit. More of them get the big head.

Everyone wants to complain....could any of you do better than Roger Christian? If you can then do so and see how many people talk bad about how you run things. In other words no matter who is sheriff everyone thinks someone else can do better.

Christian may be the man as you call it but he's shown Hawkins County that he "not the man " for Sheriff ! He tried, showed some power hunger tactics, destroyed a few lives, and in the end..........he failed. Let's get the people back that he demoted or got rid of because he was scared they knew more than he did. Guess what? They did! The good news is we have another election and if the right ones run again, we can fix the mess he made.

You can always tell when someone is working hard doing their job. They have means hateful things said about them. He is doing a good job of cleaning up Hawkins County. We would not NEED a bigger jail if there were not ppl breaking the law. You have my vote Sheriff Christian. I will pass out yard sale signs or do anything else I can to help.

If anyone close to the sheriff's department would know , for the past 3 1/2 years the county has been covered by 2 and maybe 3 deputies a shift , Sheriff Christian depended on city departments to cover the rest because he refused to pay any overtime for any reason . 3 deputies for the entire county , that makes me feel real safe . But since it is close to election time there has to be 4 or 5 working and they are not allowed on any city streets and must be patrolling back roads and being seen out in the county area . Why wasn't this important for the past 3 years and it is now ? All he has done is take money from employees who are close to poverity level ( check pay scale ) and thats all . he broke up a very good drug unit , fired employees just to hire them back as supervision. yea that sounds like a great Sheriff to me . If you need more , look at response times to calls since Christian took over , UP 44 % since no one was working , you know its more important to save money so the commissioners can blow it. Go ROGER !!!!

I don't think so unless he can fulfill a lot of promises from the first election. Funny, people expect you to do what you promise. Roger overlooked that little tidbit. How many have seen him since he was elected. Be honest.
