why would you want to work at a hell hole?you dont make any good money unless you consider 10 bucks an hour good money just think about it this way minum wage is 7 bucks and they start you out at 10 whole dollars and you dont get a raise until a year and its a dollar and aftetr that you get 25 cents a year.and if you value your health youll stay away from the subhuman koreans. they will get you hurt and hurt bad theres enough peole that work there now with disbaling injuries and a few who will never get to work again because of the koreans and the sorry for nothing xupervisors and the personal dept..they have known about people getting hurt there and turned there haeds to it. so if you like working for welfare wages and like getting hurt then by all means work at that shit hole

It is obvious that you are one of those that act like the world owes them something. If you choose to go without work cause you are to ggod to work there, thats your business. But if you go get gov assistance, then it is all our business. Swallow your pride and work for what you have and stop looking for handouts and sympathy.

Swallow your pride and work for what you have and stop looking for handouts and sympathy. As a person who used to work in another hell hole where the safety switches and safety guards were constantly tinkered with or removed to increase speed of production, you never know when that next step inside a machine will be your last. We used to see machines close up by themselves, on robotic equipment and once in a while on people, doors shut behind operators while they were still in the machines before they should. All it takes is for something to screw up the computer programs. It was like working on a horror movie set on some days, except the blood was very real. But when your boss tells you it's safe and you know it isn't, and you never know who to trust, every day of gritting your teeth and praying just takes it's toll. We don't know until we have been in another persons shoes what their job is really like. A lot of people don't want hand outs they just want to work and go home with all their body parts. That's not too much to ask for.

When would getting someone killed or injured speed up production? Management is not that stupid. Instead some lazy azz worker who thinks he deserves $30 an hour for sitting around probably didn't do his job.

Beleive me I worked at a plant that went in and changed some safety devices on a machine for more production. I almost lost three fingers but I was lucky and only lost one. Needless to say by the next day all the safety devices were put back in working order. If they would have left the machine in the proper working order I would still have my finger.

Instead some lazy azz worker who thinks he deserves $30 an hour for sitting around probably didn't do his job. Management has always been that stupid or willingly blind. If they've always had a desk job they only think they know what will work on the floor of a plant. Unfortunately the way things work in a factory around here is, if it's not regulation or legal, the boss doesn't want to know how you get it done, just get it done. Not all workers who get hurt are out to mangle themselves or die in the most painful ways manageable. You never worked where I worked. Now you can disbelieve all you want but I know people cut corners on safety including leaving safety guards off just to make the equipment faster to work on. If three safety switches were the standard and two went out the one was said to be enough until more could be ordered. Money not safety was the priority here. I have seen with my own eyes lead/supervisors work on machines while they are running and this has been different plants in Hawkins County not just one, so don't hand me that "idiot" label until you get your head out of your butt and look hard at the plants around us.

Is that worse than someone whose politics endorses this race to the bottom, so $10 actually does look better than $7? What ever happened to $30 looking better than $10. You know, we did have that in this country at one time. Its not pie-in-the-sky dreaming. See, thats the problem. Some endorse this decline in our living standards. We shame people who actually used to know what it was like. How about demanding more than your weak ass world view?

I have been one of those managers, and no, we aren't that stupid, that's why we get paid more. I would not do anything that put the company at risk or would result in a long shutdown while an investigation occurred etc. What I did see was people breaking equipment to get out of work, stopping assembly lines when they needed a cigarette and too busy surfing internet porn to fix a broken switch. But like in this topic, I sometimes wasn't a very popular boss because I would fire dead beats in a second. Of course the people who actually worked enjoyed the benefits of performance bonuses and liked me.

Sure there are good and bad eployees in every plant. Some get away with a lot more than others. As far as smoking yes I agree people that smoke have an addiction. I am glad I never took up the habit. I don't know where you work but I have never worked where operators have access to look at internet porn. If they do they need to be fired. What we are saying is most plants don't care. People are a number and they want the job done as fast as possible. Most don't know what goes on out on the floor until it is to late. I guess they must be looking at internet porn and fail to do their job. So other people pay through their negligence

Of course the people who actually worked enjoyed the benefits of performance bonuses and liked me. Then if you put safety above production numbers, we need more supervisors like you. I had one supervisor that didn't believe in lock out tag out, he's dead now. Long Investigation's? After a man lost his arm the machine was hosed out and running the next day. I have at least 20 people who can back up everything I say. I watched one Mexican hold his bloody hand with his two remaining fingers in the other hand and he never cried out once all the way to the hospital all because people were too lazy to put a safety guard back on the machine. The supervisors and maintenance were aware of the problem because we constantly told them, they said it took too long to remove and put back on, that would slow production. I still have all my notebooks from those days in case anything ever happened to me. Other people have pictures. I have no problem with hard work but I know my rights and I wouldn't throw them away for any amount of money. There is a big difference in being an employee that is proud of their job and being treated like a paid slave while drug addicts and suck ups boss everyone around.

I'm not sure about people being on drugs that work there but Wednesday afternoon I was listening to the police scanner when a disturbance was reported at Sam Dong. I'm not sure what happened but it seems the police are called there quite a often. There was one occasion that they had a police officer there around the clock for several weeks. I remember seeing one of the plant manager's name in the paper for DUI as well. I'm not sure what they make there but it sounds like a pretty wild place of employment. So Mike if you want to work there just keep trying or if you live in Morristown look at the Career Center - Talbott 6057 W. Andrew Johnson Hwy. They are taking applications for several different plants at the moment.
