http://www.timesnews.net/article.php... To say this article disturbs me is a gross understatement. I have 2 children who are suppose to go to CHS next year. I have already been told so many horror stories about that school and what takes place there. More disturbing, this is not a reflection of the school itself, but a reflection of the type of Young Adults that Rogersville is producing. How many generations has Rogersville been declining? You know, it's sickening. You have those who realize this town is not the picture perfect, good to raise a family town. Then you have others with their heads buried so deep in the sand they can't see anything but what they want to see. I realize that you find these things everywhere, but you would'nt think it of here from the outside looking in. Is there anyone in this community that cares? Are there enough that care that can turn this around and make this a great place to raise our children? I'm doing all I can to try to find the positive and make the best of what I have to work with. Sheesh, too much for first thing in the morning!

FYI, I could not agree with you more. I think the law needs to do more. Parents and community need to work together. Yet, if someone seeks help...the law simply chooses to slap people on the wrist or allows families who are well to do or in the public eye to buy their way out of everything. I am tired of seeing everything goind downhill. Justice needs to be equal for all, not just the rich. Family buys them out, gives them more money, same routine goes down...the circle keeps going. Let's take back our community and at least do some investigating ourselves. People have rights and I am just about ready to start making citizens arrest, keep records of everything...recordings, photos, private conversations, jump in on the bandwagon ROGERSVILLe AND STOP WRENCHING OUR HANDS AND DO SOMETHING. WE ARE THE COMMUNITY, HELP!!!!!

PARENTS, LAW ENFORCEMENT, SCHOOL BOARD ALL NEED TO GET INVOLVED IN A CASE LIKE THIS. HOW MANY TIMES DO WE HEAR OR READ THAT CHILDREN (ACTUALLY 17 YEAR OLD YOUNG ADULTS IN THIS CASE) who distribute this type of behavior are severe risk and danger to society...let alone the school system my children attend. I hope Jay Taylor asks himself if he would want his children to attend a school where students with backgrounds like this attend...and takes them out for good. More than a ban should be given. Parents need to step up and participate in this action and show support for prison time and help away from society. I hope Charlotte Britton does not feel so embarrassed she is afraid to admit Hawkins County has a bad problem...simply because it makes HER LOOK BAD. It is time to get serious...I do not want my kids to be victims of the next Columbine...do you? What more do we need...something drastic needs to happen and examples need to be put into place. These students need more information found out...like...who are their friends, are they in a home with weapons, are they still allowed to roam around wherever they please? WAKE UP HAWKINS COUNTY...this time we had a warning call...next time we may not be so lucky!!! Secure our kids, get rid of the dangers...for good!! Demand ACTION, Wake up school Board...Rogersville students really need you to do your job with this one.........

It is a proven FACT (research it on the net) that almost ALL animal-abusers graduate to being SERIAL KILLERS. They start out with no conscience, getting their jollies from hurting animals and then move on to humans... don't believe me- research it for yourselves. Kind of like rapists and child-molesters- no known CURE for no conscience. If a person doesn't have any natural feelings or empathy for anything- how can you teach that? This is not just some juvenile, child's act- this is serious. Not the police, but our lawmakers have decided that animal cruelty carries very little penaly- no matter how heinous or who it affects. Wish I knew who these 'offenders' are so I could keep a close eye on them... it is scary to think they might live next door.

I'm glad the students stepped up and reported them before they did more harm. It was the right thing to do. Poor little cat. It could become someones Poor little child or someones poor mother or...... I've read about serial killers for years and this is the way they usually start. If I were a parent, they would come nowhere near my children, especially a daughter.

I urge the family members to NOT allow theses boys around young children or animals, they WILL hurt something or someone again. They may have already hurt someones kid. The boys family members need to find out what is the source of their anger, and get these boys serious treatment. Most serial killers started out torturing animals. This is not a boyhood prank. Educate yourselves before it becomes a child in the movies these boys make. www.sniksnak.com/ac/abuse.html

There's an abnormal number of psychopaths in our county. Violent, out of control, full of themselves. Most of them go to church. Many are deacons. They won't think twice about breaking into some other church to steal things to buy drugs, to sell drugs, to shoot rival drug dealers, to try to murder their girlfriend's husband, to kill their grandmother. And then go to church the next day, sing hymns and preach about how it's all under the blood.

This trend in the decline of the American youth has a deep seated root cause, and we brought it on ourselves .We allowed our rights and teachers rights to disipline our kids to be scared from us by threats of someone calling DCS.Many parents don't care what their children do from a very early age. You can see this at any store when their little angel throws a fit because they don't get any candy and does this parent bust this kids ass like they should? NO they buy them the stuff just so they won't keep acting up. There are only two reasons why a whipping isn't dealt out in this case. One the parent is afraid some nosey ass is going to say they are abusing their kids or two they just don't care what their kid does. Many parents don't make their kids responsible for their actions, many parents always find fault elsewhere when their kid is in trouble. All this is a LEARNED behaviour over a period of years beginning when mothers had to leave the home because sorry assed fathers didn't want to be responsible for their actions and provide for their own family. These kids may have been raised right and just went astray (any person is capable of anything because we wre all human)but the odds lean toward that the have had their own way anytime they wanted it,and if that is the case then parents look where these two are heading.IF YOU LOVE YOUR CHILD THEN LOVE THEM ENOUGH TO CORRECT THEM.You can't be a buddy and a parent.

Kinda like the seatbelt commercial that said "If you love'em, belt'em." And for every parent out there that has ever said "My little darling would never do such a thing" I say to you, you don't know your kid. Peer pressure can make a kid do things that they know are wrong but for some stupid reason they think they will never get caught. Todays kids are fearless and invincible with a war cry of "That'll never happen to me."

We have numerous animal rights groups jumping through hoops to help an animal, BECAUSE THEY ARE HELPLESS AND CAN'T DEFEND THEMSELVES and we murder thousands of babies each year and call it The Right To Choose.

As a graduate from CHS I can promise you theirs good and bad in all schools. It's no different at VHS, it even happens at the middle schools. When I went to RMS their was kids there that would beat on anything. It's just as bad at Morristown East and West. The bigger the school the more of it there is. Most of the teachers from Cherokee do a wonderful job. Some are mean on a daily basis but if you put up with over a 100+ 14-19 year olds per semester you can see why. Mr. Fraley is trying his best to turn the school around, but with no one wanting to help his cause its hard for him and the staff to do it alone. Now Officer Rogers seemed to make friends with the ones she got smoking or other things and wouldn't bring them in, But as I know of they told her to step it up and she does her job as best she can. It will take them more then just two years to turn CHS around, but I don't care how good it gets their will always be bad. They can teach them school work, but they can't do a parents job to.
