You've had water for how long? You know about when your bill is due. ONCE A MONTH. Shut your mouth, and go pay your late fee. You know you have to pay your bill, you shouldn't have to get a letter!

If it is the policy of the water department to submit bills then, part of their service is to ensure they are mailed at the proper time. Credit card companies can't get away with it so why should the water department? If a normal business delays invoicing it affects their cash flow, so it is in the benefit of the business to take care of their invoicing. The customer is not responsible for late billing, it is also not the customers responsibility to determine what their bill will be from month to month. I for one do not run to the meter every month to determine if I used more or less water from the month before. My water bill is never the same, so how could the customer be expected to pay a variable bill ahead of receiving an invoice?

My bill ranges from 20-50$ a month. I go and pay it when getting paid, before I ever receive a bill. I pay my bills on time, and know to expect it needing to be paid. She/he should stop whining and go do it. This person probably just threw the bill away.

It's also the only bill I get (or sometimes get) that's due less than two weeks from when it's received. If you pay bills on the 1st and the 15th of the month, which is when I get paid, most times the bill hasn't come by the 1st and is late on the 15th. It's not my job to go by there and check to see how much I owe. It's their job to get me the bill on time so I can pay it on time.

The water department needs to waive all late fees due to the mix up, which is really no one's fault. Probably one reason people are so upset about this is because of the outrageous deposits the water department now charges, and that they can mess your credit rating.

Another gripe...

Due date on Saturday.

Pay on Monday gets you a late charge.

Their explanation...due date means you pay before the due date. Almost like bait and switch.

Oh really? Then state THAT on the bill.

I've NEVER had any utility do this...

No sense in arguing. I pay before the due date now...It is my three bucks after all.

Yes they do...I've had a conversation with HEC concerning this very topic.

HEC avoids due dates on the weekend.

RWC needs to monitor their computer system likewise.

It's not rocket science, just good customer service which appears to be alien science to this utility.

Then if one is late its their own fault. Not getting a statement does not exempt one from paying on time. I am aware the bill is due every month like all the rest of my bills...

FACTS:
The bills were not delivered,(sent out), but this was like 3 months ago, why are you bitchin now? They now bill with paper instead of the old cards, and they did blame the post office, but if you paid them in that month at all, there was no late charge! If you didn't figure out that you didn't pay for December until now, then you need to pay the late charge!

Fact 2
If your due date falls on a Saturday, there is no late charge for paying it Monday, both of these scenerio's happened to me and this is how it is, now if you have a vendetta, at least make it believable!!

Use the same amount of water every month and the bill will be the same. I bet you HEC bill isn't the same every month!

FYI--my water bills were due on the 12th the last two months. Both fell on a Saturday. Paid on Monday and was charged late fee each time with the same explanation. If you don't believe me that's fine. It happened, just go look at your calendar. I don't have a vendetta just stating FACTS as well...

Yes they changed to paper statements...I receive one EVERY month.

Rest assured they will be paid before the due date from now on...

RWC shut my water off today saying I hadnt paid on my account since May. Is there any other utility company in this fine city that would let you go that long without paying your bill?

So, same post in about four places...you must be a little upset. BUT, you never said you actually paid your bill. Did you? And if you did do you have the cancelled checks? If you didn't, you think you can just forget paying for four months and they won't do anything? They've threatened to cut mine off for being 10 days late.
