So fill in a guy from the suburbs on how the WTO sets prices for US crops. How is it that the Holzhauer and Hackney families should be subsidized so heavily by the US taxpayer? I respect the tough job that farmers have but think they should succeed or fail without government assistance.

Its all the Politics of the poorest region of this Country. The Delta . I akin all our Plantation owning Congressmen and Senators as plantation Masters. I am in a Race for State Representative for my District. I am curious to see how many regular folks feel the same way you do, tired of the theft of our tax dollars. I need their votes. I go against the list of farmers who can squeeze us for our tax dollars, then look down their noses at us. http://home.earthlink.net/~harveywards/index....

It blows my mind how many people seem to want the government to take care of them, like it is their parent. I guess it's "if only they'd take care of me, I'd be happy." Grow up! You're an adult. Be responsible for yourself and let the bureaucrats go out and get a real, productive, job. Happiness is a state of mind. Just ask all the sad, depressed rich people out there. Good luck to you in the election, Mr. Edwards.

Harvey:
Last time I checked without our farmers our local economies would be in real bad shape. That is subsidies for 3 years and they generally get them because the goverment has depressed the overall price of their crops.
