Try rubbing the skin with grains of 'table salt' when it's itching and not to scratch with finger nails. see if it work.

"Most doctors, including dermatologists and psychiatrists, think Morgellons -- the name given in 2002 to the proposed condition -- is a purely psychological disorder. They insist sufferers are imagining the symptoms and scratching lesions into their own skin, similar to patients with delusions of bugs crawling on them."

MAny docs say it's psychological if the have no clue what's wrong or how to treat it.

Easier for them to blame the patient than say "I don't know."

Show us the photos ladies. Have ANY of you called 911 and had a paramedic confirm your symptoms when YOU say you have them? No? Give us some slack if this sounds slightly fishy ladies; you're not doing a good job of convincing us yet. Perhaps if you tried turning off the Oprah show when your supposed symptoms begin? Just trying to help sisters.

I Contracted this dreadful condition in the Spring of 2006. It started as lesions on my legs and itches like heck. They first thought it was scabies. It isn't.
Enough waiting CDC. Get on with it.

I have known Valerie for many years, so I have seen firsthand how the medical community, for the most part, has dismissed her pleas for help. The person who said 'it's easier to blame the patient' is correct. Valerie was doing well in her job, owned a house, and was very sociable before she got sick. She has been greatly debilitaed by this. She has made the effort to seek treatment and answers over and over. We need to push the CDC for some answers. Or we may face another epidemic.

This woman is good city council material. She should run next time and join Shivley, Gomes and Brown. The four crazy idiots can run the city together and hallucinate the budget and problems.

I've worked in the mental health field for years, and I have seen the symptoms of this illness first hand (not from the mental patients, but from mentally healthy people). Morgellon's is not a mental health issue. It is a real physical ailment that affects mentally healthy people and is not understood by most doctors.
The average medical doctor does not have the training to treat or diagnose an unusual illness like Morgellons. The symptoms do not match the cookie cutter list of illnesses they learned in med school, but since doctors already know everything (not), it must be imagined, right?
Conversely, almost without exception infections disease doctors say this is a real physical illness. Unfortunately, it is not something we are familiar with at present. The initial talk of sufferers being delusional was started by a few very vocal dermatologists who are in no way qualified to diagnosis a systematic illness such as Morgellon's. It is exactly the same as if they examined someone with a red face brought on from a heart condition and said the pain and tiredness were all delusional.
This physical illness is obviously real. Something needs to be done to help these people.

Without exception, I have never seen a QUALIFIED mental health professional diagnose one of these patients as delusional. These Dxs are coming from people who do not have the proper training, and more often have no training at all, to make this type of assessment. Under proper examination it is clear these individuals do not meet the criteria for psychosis.

This is a physical ailment.

"First, do no harm"..... if you do not suffer this horrible thing/disease/delusion you don't know anything and should stay with what you know to personally be true. Thank you. I am sure this will inspire many to be naysayers showing a lack of information on their part; and that is their right/ freedom of speech. "Go on with your badselves."

Daily Horoscope for December 22

Virgo

Be careful you don't wind up doing someone else's work today, Virgo. There are all sorts of little tricks to persuade you to take pity on them, from pretending to be ill to making such a hash of everything that you can't bear to watch for a moment longer. Then you are likely to be asked to put in some overtime, at the expense of your social life. Grr.
