Native Americans seek notice

Full story: The Reporter

At times, she said, it seems like they're invisible. Reports about Native American students' test scores, good or bad, typically include no mention of their performance, said Melissa Mendoza, parent advisory chairperson for the Vallejo school district's Native American Studies Program.

Vacaville used to have an amazing Indian Education program when I was a child. Whatever happened?

The Native Americans were either killed off or sent to reservations because they got in the way of Euro-centric prosperity and the god given program of Manifest Destiny.

The question was, what happened to the Indian program in Vacaville, and you drive off the ditch in this drivel. Move back to Europe or where ever and sell your possesions to the Indians. Do us a favor.

So, your saying the Indians in Vacaville were marched off to Cache Creek to forced labor in the casinos. LOL!

I watched (and loved) The Lone Ranger when I was little. And I think Indians were screwed (not by the Lone Ranger - but by us whites in general). But it's history now. Get over it.

On the other hand if you was Black you would have all kinds of origanizations, legislators, and Reverents standing up for you. I am guilty for my forefathers wrongs. So like I already said, get over it.

Overall this is a pretty boring and useless story. What the native american activists mentioned in this story want is for low education scores of native amercan students to be published so they can whine about the "victim" status of indians and get more hand outs from "Uncle Sugar" (federal goverment).

The properly accepted term within the various tribes is "American Indian".
