Person Killed By Train In Montgomery County, Md.

Another suicidal tresspasser strike in garrett park. We hit more there than anyplace else except montrose road, gaithersburg, rockville and baltimore. Come to think of it, I was pretty sure we had already hit everybody in garrett park. I guess people keep filling it back up. Alas our work is never done.
The sad part of it all it the inconvience they put the cash paying passengers through. It is like they have some vendetta against intercity commuters or something weird. |

Yeah.
Too bad they wont pay $1.35, hop onto the METRO & French Kiss the 3rd rail. If the 750 volts won't get em, the 8-Car train on the tracks, or the falling apart infastructure will. |
|
Metro is now $2.10 for the AM suicide hours, probably why the commuter train worked best for him. |

There are several reasons that the section of track near Randolph Road has so many pedestrian vs train fatalities. The number of shelters in the area, aimless people wandering around, immigrants who are not used to high speed trains, drunks, people on drugs, etc. All of these factors seem to converge in the area of Randolph Road.

Natural selection, perhaps? |

You all shall be questioned about your comments when you approach me through the Pearly Gates. There is no reason for such hateful comments, the person that died was someone's child and a loved one. If you follow the way of the Bible then you shall ask for forgiveness, and though ye may feel forgiven, I will not repent my anguish towards you nor that of anysoul who speaks as the anti-Christ, or anyone who endeavors to support George Bush.

Jesus Christ, give me a gogdam break. |
|
Nothing natural about randolph road, |
|
You must be "Hey Zeus" not "Geez Us" Christ. Since the Good Book clearly states that all one must do is to ask for forgiveness and take Jesus into their heart and they will be forgiven their sins... Even those who support George Bush. |

Sorry that this happened, but what are people doing on the train tracks, anyhow? And it's not always homeless people, drunks, etc; in my area, many times I'll see yuppy-type people taking walks, jogging, etc., and treating the tracks like their own personal exercise track. People shouldn't assume that the engineer will be able to stop the train if he sees them on the track; even if the train is going very slow, it takes up to 1/4 of a mile for a train to come to a full stop after the brake is applied. I feel really badly for the engineer in this incident because I'm sure there's nothing at all he could've done to avoid hitting the person - and he'll have to continue driving that stretch of track....

First of all the trains are heavy. They vibrate the tracks, not to mention very loud and have a super loud horn. Anyone that gets wacked had wanted it!!

My thoughts to everyone involved, including the engineer and conductor on board who witnessed it firsthand and what they are going through.
Came across an article from out in California a few days ago about what train crews go through when they hit someone, here's a link for those interested: http://www.nctimes.com/articles/2008/05/03/ne... |

Two acts of theft: Taking gasoline and taking electricity.
Two acts of violence: Shootings and Arsons. A Task Force conducted by the Special Assignment Team operated by the Montgomery County Police has to take effect immediately. Some of our senior neighbors have mentioned that the crime is getting so bad that they are "planning to move out or move down south to get away from the crime and mayhem" but I do hear that down in Florida, the laws are stricter and the streets are safer down in Florida. |
