This is the most absurd interview I've ever seen. Bernstein must be sweatin' Jenni cause everytime he asks Brian a question he puts the microphone in Jenni's face. Can't hear Brian at all. It's ridiculous. Several times he directly asks Brian a question but points the microphone to her. What gives???

I listened to you this morning as always and heard about the story of the judge who is protecting the children of those actors to ensure that they are not dgiven their share of the proceeds of the show. I was a child actor from 1948 thru 1957. I worked on TV, radio and Broadway. I went to school with gregory Hines and Patty Duke at Mace school for performing arts. I was a member of the cast of "CAT ON A HOT TIN ROOF" at the Morosco theater in New York City.
My parents alledgedly saved me the money from my acting and the shows that i did with Frank Sinatra, vic Damone and Perry Como. When I turned 18 my father gave me the bank book with all of my earnings from ten productive years in acting. The bank book contained $250.00. Child actors are taken advantage of all of the time. My case was not an isolated incident, it was the norm. Thank you for making it known about what happens to young actors who can not car for themselves. I was lucky. I ended up retireng from the post office as a branch manager and still sing from time to time with an oldies group as a first tennor. I now am a facilator for an aircraft handeling companu at Dulles Airport. I moved here from Brooklyn N.Y.,(a hot bed oof country music) and found you and WMZQ early in my moving here. Since then my radio has never moved from 98.7. Thank you and Genny for the great company you give me on the way to work every day. I was used to DJ's that talked down to you in N.Y.. You inform, make me laugh, Choke me up when you tell the sad stories and just entertain me. When I was a mamber of the cast of "CAT ON A HOT TIN FOOF" I met Danny and Marlo Thomas. After each performance we would go into the lobby eith a box to collect for St. Judes. I did that for over three years and each year danny thomas wi=ouyld come and thank all of us. Burle Ives would take care of me between matanee and evening performances on Wednesday and Saturday. Even tho I neveer saw the money from then the experience was great. Thanks Your loyal listener, Always Nick Marchese (aka, Nick Paul). trackntrainsnick@yahoo.com |

why isn't brian on the air anymore?

Where's Brian?
|

Is Brian with the station any longer?
|

Brian got fired!
|
||||
|
Why would Brian get fired? They need to fire Jenni.
|
||||
That's not fair; it is not Jenni's fault that Brian is gone. But it is also NOT FAIR that no one said anything about Brian leaving. One day he is there and then the next he is gone and "WIPED OUT OF THE WEB SITE!" It is like he never existed. Brian was the best they ever had on that show. He brought us all together to HOPE, DREAM and proud to be AMERICANS! He and his wife, Jen, were an inspiration to us all. What a loss to the station. God Bless the Egan Family |

I agree with you about Brian. I thought he was the best. I just never liked Jenni from the first day when she started. She would always interrupt Brian when he was talking. And well she likes to play so freaking dumb.
Well I switched stations which is a shame I have listened to them for years. Brian GOOD LUCK to you and yours |

Don't think that Jenni can carry the show by herself. Off to find another station.

Got an email from the Program Director after asking the same question. Evasive answer with no reason given why Brian is gone. Here it is:
Brian is no longer with WMZQ. His last day was September 25th. A new show will be debuting in the next couple of weeks. Thanks for listening in the morning and I do hope you get a chance to listen to our new show and give us your feedback. Sincerely, Meg Stevens Program Director WMZQ Washington, DC |

Why did they fire Brian??? He was great and now he's just gone with noone saying anything to the listeners. Nothing on the website, nothing during the show. I have been a loyal listener for many years. Not any more.....

I think the way WMZQ handled Brian's departure was absolutely disgusting -- but I guess no real surprise, since they did the same thing to Jim London several years ago. I agree with Krissy, who called it disrespectful to listeners -- and certainly also disrespectful to their own employees.

I guess we will listen to 93.3 now instead. Or better yet XM

I’m inclined to think it was mostly a business decision; Clear Channel is a company, after all, and like any company, they have to watch their bottom line. I don’t know about Jim London or Seth Warner, but they had been on WMZQ -- or on DC-area radio -- for a long time, so their salaries might have become more than Clear Channel was willing to continue paying. Maybe Brian asked for more money, and CC decide the best way to answer him was to let him go. Keep in mind that I don’t know any more details than the rest of you; this is all speculation on my part.
Some of you may also remember John Anthony from a few years ago. He was the program director at WMZQ, as well as an on-air DJ. I recall reading something about his “departure” around that time, and I think it had something to do with him disagreeing with the suits at CC (I may be remembering wrong though). I’ll bet it had to do with the corporate playlists; the songs, such as the current hits, that the company wants the DJs to play to keep a certain demographic listening to the station in order to get advertising dollars. I think John wanted to be able to play more than just that, including classic country (and I’m sure Jim London wanted the same thing, since he loved the classic stuff), but CC probably said no. Next thing you know, John Anthony was gone from WMZQ. Who knows; maybe Brian wanted to play more old stuff too. I agree with Norma and the others that said the way they handled Brian’s departure was ridiculous. No explanation, nothing on the website, nothing on the air. My wife e-mailed Jenni to ask her about it, but I told her she wouldn’t get an answer (and she hasn’t). I’m sure Jenni was given strict instructions to keep her mouth shut, in so many words. So the e-mail that Steve received in response to his question comes as no surprise to me. I’ll keep listening to the station since I love country music; let’s just hope that whatever morning show ends up on the station is good. And I hope they keep Jenni; I happen to like her, even though Brian and she made a great team.(Ben & Brian were even better...) |
