I am really saddened at the many comments & accusations that were made about the fire on Merrywood Drive (oct 5 2010). Oh and did I mention....ignorant? For me, it is simple. Who cares about ones opinions and feelings about the who, what and why's. Because there are individual people,(human beings)who have to rebuild with nothing. There are children that can't sleep well due to fear. And there are mom and dads that are faced now with having to STILL do the daily "survival" thing but now WITH NOTHING! My family was displaced by this fire. We have had no help. We all live seperately, yes seperately. I have had to have my son live elsewhere. I have hardly any clothes for any of us. The list goes on. I just want to say, that some people don't have extra money, the best of credit, family, or a lot of friends to lean on. Every night I worry about where I will sleep and am lucky to find a hot meal. Sounds a little dramatic...but NO MATTER what the circumstance of why some lives are like that, THEY ARE. So when you lay your head down at night in your bed, try to think about how YOU would feel knowing your baby is not in th enext room for you to kiss goodnight. ANd the person you lay next to nightly and occasionally sleep close to just for security is laying somewhere in someones house that really doesn't have the time to help. And you, thinking how your back will be sore from sleeping upright in a chair, hoping you will have time to at least shower before your asked to leave, etc..., and last but not least, if you will get at least 5 things done on th elist of a million things to do. This is real life folks. And its people like us that need help. And although there is a strong pattern of people/agencies/etc, they seem to be better at telling you to ask the "next guy", rather than stopping and giving just a little. Well, i will end this by saying, it's now time for me to call my son and tell him goodnight, send my hug and kiss thru the phone, hang up and cry.
